NPC's keep attacking me when I kick them out. What can I do about it?

WE changed it, Mad-Eye? I don't think so... I don't claim much, but I claim credit for that. (Unless you did it independantly of course).

And it WORKED! O glorious day, it worked, someone fell for it!!! WOOHOOOOOO!!! :vampire:

Ummm as for the prone thing, its a good call Spike: u may remember it coming up once before vis-a-vis modding in animations. But ToEEWB won't open a .mob like Thrommel's, so its a bit hard to set the flags to do it. Will have to hack it the old fashioned way :D
Actually a few like Zert yell, "its a Vampire, kill it, kill it!" Meleny too for memory says something about him being Nosferatu.

Not that I'm contradicting u, Sol... :nervous:
Forgot to mention - I tinhk it just takes a while. I remember pointing it at <SPOILERED OUT> who is Evil, and it took a while for him to turn red, then he did. Just give it time.

Or perhaps it IS broken ;) I dunno, but it has worked for me.

This thread seems to be getting unneccesarily contentious. Let's recap the main points and put it to bed, shall we?

Normally this only happens if you've damaged the NPC in some way -- friendly fire, etc. And yes, they'll call you on it weeks after the fact, even if they've since become your buds. Just the way it is. However, your install seems fairly peculiar, being as you have that wacky 511 magic missile thing going too that is supposed to be fixed.

Despite all the permutations seen here of how this could be explained, the bottom line on what you've encountered is that the game was never really fleshed out properly, storywise, by the developers. Maybe one day Co8 will endeavor to fully round out the plot. That would be a huge effort though.

Broken? Not broken? Who can say for sure? It's hard to test some elements of this game engine when certain flags may be set to fire once every 200 times or so, like has been said with timed events.

I'm sure Blue meant the "royal" we, Ted. In another words, you . . . a part of Co8. ;)

    Lastly, @Green Knight:

If I may be so bold, your tone here has been just a little bit inappropriate. All I'd ask is that you remember that you're using a mod built by a lot of hard work on the part of this community which is distributed freely. Furthermore, you're seeking out free advice from that same community on the problems you encounter, both bug-wise and gameplay-wise. No one here is getting paid for sitting at the 'help desk,' as Blue calls it. ;) A touch of humility (note that I said 'a touch,' not gross self-flagellation) would go a long way toward getting you the help you need.

The Thrommel thing is entirely appropriate. You go around terminating everything with extreme prejusdice, sometimes you're going to make mistakes. If anything, Thrommel was a lot harder to find in the PnP module (though the setup didn't make a whole lot of sense, with was typical for a Gygax module).

I thought it was you, as I first noticed the change in the files you sent me, but I wasn't sure, so I said "we", and in the modders at Co8. I didn't want to give the blame, er ... I mean credit to you until I was absolutely sure you were responsible. However, maybe I should call some small bit of credit for it, because I caught the change and still let it through into 4.0.0. :p

green knight, enter www.sorcerers.net and there enter the games section, then The Temple Of Elemental Evil, and then select the online walkthrough by Dave Milward, and read it ... especially end game/the ending movie

If you install Co8 4 MOD, you can also read the Walkthrough for DH Quest.pdf file. It is a 14-page walkthrough for ShiningTeds MOD. It is in the ToEE parent folder when Co8 4 MOD is installed.

Err ... what? I wasn't taking an inappropriate tone with anyone about the Co8 mod. The only tone I took was with Sol Invictus who, if you'll read his post, took an inappropriate tone with me, first. So how about taking him to task before you take me to task? I was only responding to him.
