Re: ToEE World Builder v1.7.4 Thanks! Although I found the computer surprisingly adept at pathfinding through my little maps: and i do mean surprisingly!
Re: ToEE World Builder v1.7.4 Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that Agetian is really lying down on the job lately?
Re: ToEE World Builder v1.7.4 Yeah, I had some time to work on ToEEWB/Toffee lately, especially considering that Co8 4.0.0 release is to follow soon, and KotB project is in progress (map making in particular), so I decided to update both of my major projects to keep up with the community needs. - Agetian
UPDATE 30 SEP 2005: TOEEWB v1.7 Patchlevel 5 is released! This version adds the "Tolerance" option to the path node generator which allows the modder to tweak the way links are generated (read more about it in whatsnew.txt and in the internal help: "Tolerance -> What is tolerance?" in the path node generator. If anyone is interested in this, please redownload ToEEWB. - Agetian
Well, I can honestly say I installed and used patchlevel 4 in the 28 minutes or so before patch level 5 came out, how many of you other people can say that???
UPDATE 2 OCT 2005: Editor's Helper Script updated to version 5.2! This version includes Cerulean's wonderful batch scripts for testing your modules. Version 5.2 is available for download as a separate attachment. - Agetian
Been roaming the forum for a few weeks now,and am ready to try my hand at 'modding', however, I can't seem to get Zane's ToEE Extract to download properly. All I get is a notepad document of gibberish! Any ideas?
Well, probably it's not the best thread for this question (since it's dedicated to ToEEWB), but I guess this thread has sometimes gone far more off topic, so it's OK. Here's a direct link to the Zane's ToEE Extract. I just tried it, and it seems to work perfectly right for me. If it doesn't work for you, tell me what problems you have and I'll try to help you more. Get Zane's ToEExtract here: http://files.co8.org/tools/ToEExtract.zip - Agetian
I'm trying to figure out the worldmap editor. The 0_worldmap_ui_locations.mes lists 2 sets of co-ordinates (am I right in assuming that) the first set of X-Y's is the .tga location, and the second set is the location of the button you click on? I wrote down both set's so I could compare it with worldmap_ui_paths.bin in ToEEWB - hoping to add a new button (and art) for Verbobonc, but the co-ord's I wrote down don't seem to match the ones in ToEEWB (worldmap_ui_paths.bin). Am I missing something here? Or is there an easy way to determine which co-ord's are associated with each area?
You know what they say about playing around a creek...you'll eventually slip and slide right on in. For me that'll be like January at the earliest, maybe even February or March. @Agetian: Have you tested your World Builder with the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)?
Allyx, when u got this figured lemme know, will need it for KotB obviously. Agetian is busy with post-grad stuff atm, I'm sure he won't mind me letting u guys now.
Ok I spent most of today trying to figure out the co-ordinates listed in worldmap_ui_paths.bin (Agetian sent me a graph he did). So plotting the co-ordinates - copying what Agetian did - I noticed that it looked wrong (sorry Agetian) the co-ordinates start from TOP LEFT corner (not the bottom left) - so i flipped my map over (white side facing me) and held it up to the world map .tga files. IT FITS!!!. Check it out! [EDIT] Agetian say's I've got it wrong - and 117,177 is Hommlet..
You forgot the Temple itself and the Manor house. Is that everything? There are 13 spots on the map? A new one would be #14? So I should put mine at #15? At least I know it won't be in the same spot as yours
The map doesn't fit, by the way (sorry Allyx). There's only one entry point for Hommlet, no division for east et al. At least in the BIN file, it's like that (since there is only one outgoing path from and to Hommlet - go figure)... so, the map still needs a lot of work. If I have at least a little more time any soon than I have now, I'll try to contribute. Also, (117,177) should be the entry point for Hommlet, since whenever you delete the paths from/to 117,177, you can't go from/to Hommlet (so it's wise enough to assume that it's the Hommlet location). @ Everyone: if anyone is interested, I tested ToEEWB/ToEEFE on the newly released .NET 2.0, both pure (only v2.0 release installed) and on a SxS installation of v1.1 and v2.0. The programs work perfectly fine for me in both cases. - Agetian
