The patch seems to have broken or changed some of the high end npc's. Kendrak never summoned his god, and the balor and other daemons never used fear or charm with the patch active.
same without without the patch installed hedrack (you meant him right?) never summoned against me and only the balor cast fear and even then only once i dont think the patch affected it, maybe certain things in the game need to be flagged or maybe its random?
I think its got to do with the way you killed Hedrack. He'll only summon his god when you damage him for 90 or so hitpoints ON HIS TURN, so if you manage to kill him before him ever having 90 damage or more on his turn, he'll never get the chance to summon.
Okay, its possible it was just random. The fight against him was rather easy, could be I never gave him a chance. Just noticed another random even depending on killing speed - that women dropping an ac 8 elf chain in the tunnel leading to broken tower. First time through ( at level 10, after cleaning out most of the temple allready) I just owned her and got nice loot, now I was a bit slow ( level 5, just entered temple ), and she suddenly stopped fighting, we talked, and she left - it didnt even give my chaotic evil party a chance to stop her ! Luckily reloading solved the problem
I don't know if this is related or not, but I've noticed that since the patch, Bugbears don't seem to use potions, and the giant/behemoth frogs never tried grappling/swallowing my party.
Hedrack still summons Iuz, and St Cuthbert still comes. And oh, just don't accidentally catch St Cuthbert in a fireball range... he really is Godly
Well, the behemoth only used his tongue grapple AFTER I moved the guy he was fighting out of his melee attack range. I haven't seen any frogs tried to grapple other than that one time since using the patch. It's not really a big deal, I think. Aren't there only like 5 or frogs in the entire game?
