I created a gnome character with the intention of multi classing him as a Bard/Illusionist. The problem I'm having is that when I get him to level 3 Bard (which opens up all 6 spell slots for level 0), I can't choose the final spell to add to it because its greyed even though he never chose it in his previous levels? The only thing I can think of that could conflict with this is that his Illusionist class has learned it already but that shouldn't be. Anyone encountered this?

EDIT: found the bug. The problem is that I chose Abjuration and Necromancy as the opposite schools of Illusion (following AD&D) and for whatever reason this also prohibits the Bard class form learning Abjuration and Necromancy spells too. As a result, the Resistance spell (level 0) since its Abjuration can not be selected by the Bard and so the class can't level beyond 2. Blah.

    Interesting.

Yeah the idea of specialisation in ToEE (and 3.5?) is that you get bonus spells of one school but are denied access to spells of another school.

Thats some bug you got there though

Yes, 3.5 is the same. You choose a school (if you want to specialize) and then you choose 2 you are not going to learn from. Guess it makes sense to some degree the restrictions you've placed on yourself would cover another profession as well. GUess the DM workaround would be to ignore the 6th spell the Bard can learn at Spell Level 0 though in game that's not possible to do.

Sorry, misunderstood what you were saying: you had a dual class bard/illusionist? I thought you meant a bard who had taken 'spell focus: illusion' or whatever the feat is... wow that bug is even worse than I first thought :yeaaa:

[Edit: gotta read them first posts more closely before I spam ;)]

Another bug with a Bard/Wizard combination... I'm not sure if this is a result of one of the mods I installed but the Bard and Wizard both share the same pool of spells per day. So for example if you have a Bard 1 / Wizard 1 (CR2), the Bard spells should have 2 level 0 casts, and the wizard spells has 3 level 0 casts. If you were to cast Wizard level 0 spells twice, you can't cast any Bard spells at level 0 even though you haven't and it says that there 2/2 spells available. The message keeps coming up that you have used up all of your casts for the day.
