I pretty much gave up on this game after all the bugs and whatnot, but decided to give it a go again, I reinstalled it, patched it up to 3, installed the Co8 patch and now when I am going to find Blackjack (I think that's his name), the game crashes when I scroll through the town. :censored:
Also, it wouldnt even start w/o the Co8 patch. It would look as though it was going to start, then went back to the desktop, no error
I would REALLY love to play this game, it had so much potential, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Did you install my patch (Ted's Mod 1.0)? There ARE some issues near Black Jay's house, but these have never occured with a new game. (Indeed, they shouldn't).

No, I haven't I installed it yesterday, played for a bit, it was crashing, so I uninstalled it, but kept my characters and imported them into the new install. Could that be the issue as well?
    Thanks for the help again.

I don't have lag. I have a crash. Lag I can deal with, I'd be happy with lag. It crashes.

I was having that problem last year and got disgusted and gave up trying to play. As soon as I would start a game (usually just in the character creation mode) I would either lock up or get booted to the desktop. A couple months later, I upgraded my RAM to 512M and bought a new video card and things work fine.

I don't think it's my system. I have a gig of low latency RAM, AMD64 3200+, BFG 6800, MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. It handles Halflife2 well and Battlefield 2 well, I don't think this game is that big of a drain, comparitively. I just remember it being buggy as all getout.

i used to have a similar problem when moving great distances in town it would crash. it does not seem to do that after i patched with liv's. Im not sure if that actually fixed it or if it is just a coincident. try it anyway and let me know.

If your 'crash near Black Jay' issue is related to my mod (probably isn't but lets be thorough) check in this folder:

    Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\ToEE\maps\Map-2-Hommlet-Exterior

If you see a file called 268435465.sec delete it, clear the maps cache and try again.

Everyone else - this has been EXTENSIVELY tested and is VERY RARELY a problem, don't delete that file for the heck of it!!!

When you say you installed the Co8 patch, did you install the moebius2778's temple.dll fix as well? It is almost necessary when playing with SP2. Also, Atari patch 3 is generally not recommended by most people here. Try it patched through Atari patch 2, add the Co8 patch and moebius2778's temple.dll.

Well it seems that it doesn't crash now, unless I am looking at the world view map. Then it stutters like crazy and locks up. Sometimes it lets me get to the next area, but other times it locks up completely. I have to do a hard reset of the system. Is this a common error? Now, I have installed the ToEE patches 2 & 3 as well as the other required patches. Co8, and moebius.
    Thanks again
