Everyone suddenly HOSTILE... WTF?!?!

So I am doing the caves, do random encounters around... etc....

And then I drop in on the Bailey and everyone gets into a hostile position and I'm in a combat.

I reload and am able to talk to the bailiff and leave, even though everyone is in combat stance.

Now when I walk into the Green Griffon tavern at night, EVERYONE ATTACKS ME.

I didn't do anything to bring this on, WTF? Is my game broken? I certainly can't keep playing if everyone in the keep is suddenly against me.

 

When I completed the game, I just went on a rampage and killed everyone in the Keep that I can get my hands on.

So there's that to look forward to doing.

There's two theories I'm working with...

1. This is just a bug, because this same thing happened to me in TOEE where Mother Screng suddenly turned hostile with no rhyme or reason. The game is corrupted somehow.

2. I did go to that braggart jerk warlord in the lower SE of the map, and he made me get the blessing of that clearly CE cleric. But this doesn't make sense either, as not EVERY keep NPC attacks me, only the guards at the bailey and the tavern folks.
