Temple Plus Assassin spells

    It's not actually incorrect. The double damage is achieved by applying a Critical Hit (x2) multiplier which stacks correctly with a genuine critical hit - in my case from a warhammer to produce a x4 multiplier. What concerned me, unnecessarily was the level at which the Critical Hit (x2) was operating and whether it would trigger a Telling Blow in a specially "gamed" character - which it didn't.

    That's great, Pygmy, thanks! Sorry for my ignorance, but how can I try it? I tried extracting the overrride.zip folder you left in post#5 into my TemplePlus 1.0.95, but it didn't work. The exact path was: Users/P/AppData/Local/TemplePlus/app-1.0.95.
    It is not suppossed to work that way, or with the 1.0.95 update?

    I did something like that for the wight at the end of KotB. Never had any feedback either way.

    The 'problem' is if someone dominates the wight and it uses that power against monsters. Life stealing (as implimented in ToEE) only works on class levels, not hit dice. A 20hd monster with no class levels would be killed instantly.

    I thought Life Stealing had been modified in Co8 to alleviate the fact that you got no experience points for instant killing an undamaged 20HD monster?

    Maybe, but the point is that it is an exploit - not that you don't get XP!!
