[SPOILER] Need help with Demons and Demigods quest

Two spells:

Longstrider (or equivalent movement booster) and Spike Growth/s (conjuration spells are not deterred by the magic resistance). Just lead the avatars of Iuz/Cuthbert through the affected area(s) -- they always take damage on the direct path towards you, as you run the edges of the gauntlet.

Or, alternatively -- though it takes A LOT LONGER -- Web, and with Enlarge and/or a reach weapon . I noticed this in the Arena of Heroes and Imeryds Run, once the Big Enemy is caught by the Web (which may take a while, as they only fail the saving throw on a "1"), they rarely attempt to escape. And then they are hit only with on a "20".

 

Sorry to dig up this thread out of blue, but when fighting Iuz - I am unable to buff up pre-fight, as the dinner works like 'rest'?
Or am I doing something wrong here? I got insta teleported, not prepared, Iuz just charge in and kills everyone.
I know there are several tactics avaiable, but fighting God without buffing up is just...xD

 

Ok I found some wierd trick. Probably a bug.

When you got teleported to Arena, just load Autosave. You will be alone in the arena. Get out. Buff up. get in, and Inu will be there.

 

Rizzmer, I was able to defeat Iuz using a tactical trick but it took about 20 reloads to get the spacing absolutely perfect and cast everything in the right order. It was not a satisfying victory because most my characters could do little to contribute beside casting one particular spell (no spoilers). I may go back and retry using your method, so all my characters can participate
