Is there a way I can play ToEE with an earlier (lighter) version of Co8 that doesn't include the starting store? I want to play the stock start. I've read elsewhere that the 5.0.x versions didn't include the store, but I haven't been able to install those and get the game to run on Win 10 64.
You do not really need to use the starting store zone, just press the "get the typical starting gear" option when you get there and teleport away. I understand that it might be immersion breaking, but I strongly recommend on not playing earlier versions of Co8.
Before the store there was the caravan scene, you have to go back pretty far to find a version with the stock start, sorry.
Nooooooooooo! No-one has to do that. Just play with Co8 bug-fixes only, not Co8 New Content. I have no idea if that has the new store map, but may not? Or at least put in the last Co8 3.x.x mod, there was a lot of bug-fixes in that.
