Great news Marc! This is seriously the best news I have heard in a while. The mod should go on ModDB with the other Co8 mods, if you don't mind me saying. That may sound like 'fanfare', but at this point, no, I don't think anyone is keeping close watch over there
It's pretty cool that a 20 year old game is still getting new content. And with you authoring it, I am confident it will be nothing short of amazing. Major kudos on persevering for so long - god knows it isn't easy.
Best of luck Marc! Unfortunately, I won't have time to beta test for you, but I hope you find some folks who can.
Although this could be easily misconstrued, I like the "soft fantasy feel" idea. I always liked more Tolkien/Lewis, less Lovecraft in my DnD. But just a matter of ratios.
Greetings everyone, My module is just about ready for a beta release. I will soon be posting the link where you can download it, hopefully by the end of June. If it goes past that date, I will make a post explaining the situation. I'm doing one last check before making the final package, looking for stupid bugs, stray files that don't belong in the build, etc. I'll probably make a new thread for it the mod section. Everything runs very well at this point, there are no game-halting bugs, or random crashes. That's been my highest priority. That said, the mod is very long, and I have been the only person testing it. I'm sure other player's style of play will reveal weaknesses and cause great chaos to my well laid plans. So, in regards to that, I must say this. As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've reached an age where my eyes can't be exerted for full days, let alone weeks, chasing down bugs and such. So I'm counting on it remaining stable for the full length of the adventure. I can live with stupid bugs that don't halt the game, or dialog misspellings, and that sort of thing. But if something major does happens during play, and there is a situation that halts the game completely, please be patient with my response. I may be totally unresponsive for weeks, or even months. It's how it must be for me right now. To be honest, spring is springing here, I have so many other things I want to do for the next few months that don't involve looking ate a computer screen. I'm very concerned about getting swept up into a long-term tech-support situation, where I'm working on code all day and night, trying to fix things. So I may actually just post the download link and run away at full speed. Half joking... but half serious. Anyway, the adventure is called "Paladin's Cove". It's a nearly full-length campaign, and it should bring an average sized group to levels 12-18, depending on how many quests and sub-quests you undertake. It does not currently have a final wrap-up ending yet, so prepare for loose ends, and unanswered questions when it's over. But its long enough to give a player satisfying conclusions to larger quests. I've intentionally not posted screen-shots and details of what it's all about, since I started this. I didn't want to get hopes up, and then disappear. So I may as well continue that trend till the very end. Be back soon, Marc.
