Hi, I've rescued Prince Thrommel and gone through 14 days of gameplay but there is no sign of the reward encounter when travelling between the towns. Is this a known bug? Without the swords the Balor fight is basically impossible so I'm keen to get this sorted.
which version of the game are you using? Which patches/modules? did you try to go directly to an inn and rest for 14 days exactly? Then afterwards go between locations to spawn the encounter?
It's a known bug, but the rewards system (and timed event system) was re-written to fix it. As above, can you let us know which version you are using?
Most recent version on top of the second official patch - as I couldn't fit him in the party I sent him on his way, and then I've been back and forth from the temple to nulb and hommlet a few times since.
I believe he has to be in your party when he gets outside of the temple. if you don't then the rewards won't spawn.
O yeah, sorry, if you just send him away you get the Vampire endslide! He doesn't make it out. Plus, if you don't escort him out, you don't earn the reward in any sense.
The good news is that killing the Balor without Scather or Fragarach is eminently possible, and if you are finding it too tricky you don't have to do it at any specific time point. If you are playing new content, it's killing Zuggtmoy that unlocks the Verbobonc area and quests, and you can wiat until you've done a load of these before coming back to fight the Balor if you like.
