Why no love for the Dwarves

    Maybe I am missing something, but there does not appear to be any dwarf NPCs to recruit in the game. Why doesn't anyone love the stunty hairy folk?

    I don't recall there being any recruitable good or neutral demi-human NPCs in the original content. I believe this reflects the Great EGG's belief that epic fantasy should centre on human heroes. Note that none of the actual Circle of Eight were elven as elven magic-users were limited to 11th level in pre-Unearthed Arcana AD&D.

    And that is why Dwarven clerics where limited to NPC status originally (and an all-dwarf group is lots of fun;))
