After installing the CO8 modpack, I cannot get the TFE-X to start

I get a message: could not detect a valid compatible version of Temple of Elemental Evil.

I start with GOG GALAXY installing the base ToEE folder. When the CO8 modpack completes the install I cannot go further. TFE-X doesn't continue the process.

I run the CO8 modpack and TFE-X as administrator.

Also, I cannot find toee.exe in any folder.

 

I should mention that I am using a windows 11 64-bit laptop.

 

I wanted to install win11 as well, but I will not now until I finish my playthrough

 

What anti-virus software do you use? Has it quarantined toee.exe?

 

I use Windows Security, and there are no items in quarantine currently.

Recently, I resorted to a reset of my laptop, and it fixed my problems. So, I will likely end up doing a reset. I am hoping I can dial back a couple of Windows updates, and maybe end up with a Windows 10 laptop : )

Edit: I finally got my ToEE working again by doing a reset of my device. In the process, my laptop went from Windows 11 to Windows 10, and then back to Windows 11.

The game is working well with Windows 11.
