I've been having a problem with my TOEE. I wanted to try to move a saved game from one computer to the next, so i copied the entire c drive program files/atari/temple of elemental evil/modules/ToEE folder from the first one (contains the "maps" "players", and "saves" folders). And once I did, I started getting a big bug in the game. It worked fine until I went to the World Map screen, at which point the map was just a big blur of screwed-up-ness. And, from that point on, other things start to mess up as well, such as the main menu (with the Save, Load, etc option) being all blurred and screwed up as well.

I tried reinstalling the game, and it kept screwing up. I tried deleting the game via the game's uninstall program *and* manually deleting the leftovers from the Atari folder, then reinstalling it, and it's still screwing up. Every time I start it up now it goes all blue-screen on me and gives me a bunch of error messages. One mentioned a VxD file and the others were all just a bunch of numbers. I tried going into msconfig and shutting off the VxDs to see if I could get it to work, but I couldn't. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong, or how to fix it? Becuase I really enjoy this game and want to be able to play it on my computer.

    Thanks

    Thanks

I don't know exactly but, when I did the same thing I just copyed the save games and players and nothing else so maybe its your maps that are the problem.

    Hello!
I am not saying this is your problem, but I bought a new pc last Christmas, & I had several games that I could not transfer without problems like yours.
Re-installing them made no difference. So I just did not play them, period.
But TOEE is one of the first D&D modules I dungeoned in 25+ years ago, so I really wanted to make another go at this game.
After many experiments, I discovered it was my video card.
I now have a NVIDIA GeForce series vid card installed & several of the games I gave up on, including TOEE, work now.
This ol' dwarf hopes ya' get somethin' usefull out of his ramblings.
Hmmm.. seems my mug has a leak, there is no more ale in it... :(

I'm pretty sure it's not my video card, because I *used* to be able to play the game until i ried copying those files. I actually just got it working by the simple expedient of installing it in a new directory. It works, no more crashes when I run it, but now I have a new problem. All the in-game radial menus are screwed up. It's just gibberish. For example, rather than saying "Power Attack", it says " ; " So....I'm thinking maybe this problem is a bit easier to fix? Hopefully? It's amazing how I just keep jumping from one screw-up to another.

    Thanks for any help.
