    Greetings to all!

TOEE is one of the first D&D modules I dungeoned in 25+ years ago.
When this game first appeared on the shelf, I had to snatch it up!
Unfortunately :( , I was very much disappointed & left it alone for time.

    Later, I discovered CO8.
    Can you say “Resurrection
I played it & had some fun, but even with several mods available at that time, it still had too many ‘bugs’ to really enjoy. Again, this game was ignored for a time.

I did not think to continue to check back at this forum.

This ol' dwarf knows when he made a mistake!
Like walking into a room full of hostile bugbears & realizing you forgot to grab yer' axe after using the privy....

    So...

Several months later, I returned to this forum & I discovered the Livonya mod!
I never thought that wight laid a hand on me but this restoration proved most affective!

I did a clean install with all the proper patches, fixes, & all the extra modifications I wanted, including new voices, (this ol' dwarf has never sounded better) & portraits. Some downloaded & some of my own work. (About the only modding this ol’ dwarf can handle.)

I am well on the way to Nulb now with my "classic" dungeoning party of 6 pc's & one alternating npc, fully enjoying one of my all-time favorite D&D modules!

Previously, I have received & given advice & help, & will most likely continue to do both in the future. ( For example: Anyone got an extra ale mug that doesn’t leak? Seems mine keeps getting empty. Just can’t figure it out.)

So a very heartfelt Thanks & Commendations to ALL who have freely contributed their time & know-how into making what should have been a better game to begin with, into a great RPG!

In conclusion, unless the delightfull Livonya returns with more enchanting arcane wonders to share with those that appreciate her talents, this ol' dwarf is just gonna play the game & have FUN! :)

Orrin, I gots to agree. The first time I tried to play this game, I couldn't get the game to load. Kept getting a please put the play cd in the cd tray. The Co8 group
helped me track down a cracked version of the toee.exe (I had 2 copies with play
cd's of the game and neither worked). Turns out the official patches combined with a new dell xps and window xp service patch 2 do not mix. The changed
toee.exe does not recognize the play disks. But thats another story. I think the
Co8 group is the greatest and I've really enjoyed livonya's new mods and all the
other stuff I've downloaded off this site. Great Job folks!!! :txtsmilie

Hey Orrin, I remember you posting in the old days. Those days were rather "dark," as opposed to now. We have lots of activity and a robust community. I just wish zhuge were around to witness the fruits of his keeping lone watch all that time.

Glad you're enjoying the game.

Yes, Gaear, that is part of what had on my mind. The way this community has evolved in the half-year or so I was away was truly remarkable! Many have discovered a worthwhile adventure in this game ONLY because of the existence of this forum & the people that FREELY shared their knowledge & achievements with anyone that was interested. Sure there are disagreements & opposing views to be heard, but overall, I believe this forum has attained what others can only aspire to become. :)
This ol' dwarf needs to a moment to get a hanky now... *sniff*

Ah, the elusive Iowan Dwarf. With their great Halls of Corn.
    (Sorry. I'm from Minnesota.)

Orrin, what do you mean when you say "classic" party? What classes?

Also, does anyone know if the pre-made characters in the pc version are reasonable approximations of the ones from the module? It would be fun to try the old-school dungeon crawlers!

Oh and this is a great forum. And disagreements are good both for the flow of information and for building a community.

Anyhoo, I hope to do some mods when I get time and a UPS. My electricity is dodgy.

I've only got the module for 'Village of Hommlet' itself but there are no pre-rolled characters in it that I see.

None in the PNP version? Oh.
I wasn't sure if it did or not. I know some do. Like the Lolth mega campaign.
(Drooling at the thought of Queen of Demonweb Pc modules :dribble: )

    Thanks for looking Ted!
