    Warning: Spoiler

    Spoiler Request:

Allowed Lareth to live, freed him, and was surprised when he gave me access to his safe camp and "acquisitions". Is his plot over at that point? Or is there more?

Very cool series of events. :)

What? You mean you havn't taken him to the brothel to say hello to mary and her sheep yet ..... ? Or set him and bertram up on a blind date?

Nah I'm kidding, thats it. Unless you want to chop him and his buddies up into tiny pieces and feed them to Black Jay's sheep dogs!

Now those would be cool options!

    Seriously, thanks. :)

One of the best aspects of the BG2 NPCs (even more so post-mods) was their ability to react to one-another; it would rock if the ToEE NPCs could be modded to the point where Bertram started to hit on Lareth. ;)

I have a question. I have a level 3 bard/level one rouge and I can't open any of the chests in the moathouse. I killed Lareth and I can't open the diary. It says "You really don't know what you are doing. Try finding an expert." So who do I take it to?
    Thanks.

Furnok is a skilled rogue. But then again, there's the whole NPC looting stuff to worry about. You could roll up a really skilled thief character, then recruit them into your party at the Inn of the Welcome Wench. Or you clould buy / craft some stat boosting items for your existing character.

. . . also, you may find that Furnok doesn't need to join your party for this little job . . . ;)

Before you go for the add-a-character path, try casting Guidence (Cleric/Druid cantrip), Cat's Grace, and Fox's Cunning (if you have it) on your Bard/Rogue. Or just level him up again and max out his Open Locks, Disable Device, and Search skills. The locks and traps are much tougher with Liv's mod installed.

OH dear I believe I may have started something! If this turns idea becomes an actual mod - the age restriction may have to be raised to 18+!

Thanks Lord Spike, Gaear, and Old Book. I will try raising his skills. Now, back to the diary. How do I read it? Or should I let Lareth live? Thanks again.

Drag the diary to the use button in your inventory to read it; if you can't unlock it, don't worry. The most important piece of info in the diary is available if you just ask the right people in town.

You can let Lareth live, and if you play things right that can have some interesting in-game effect thanks to the changes Liv has made, but I'd only suggest doing that with an Evil or Neutral party.

They know how to dodge a question don't they?

You need a rogue with a high enough skill score to unlock it - the character you used was so under-rated in this area they didn't even get a shot.
