Thanks FDR, the respawns are scripted to change by level (and offer RAW access to masterwork and magic items) so sounds like that's where the problem will be.
I really like the artstyle of the mod, it has a lot of charm and I would really like to play it. That said, unfortunately it's almost impossible for me currently. Temple+ crashes very often when changing locales (always when I try to go to the marketplace for example). Also I'm really curious, are you meant to escape from the first (drow) dungeon when you begin the game? I honestly cannot beat some of the encounters with zero equipment on the characters.
Crashes: Can you post a savegame where a crash can be reliably triggered? Drow: I don't know what you're talking about but it sounds like something went very screwy somewhere along the way... be it installation/ activation or whatever.
I added the saves to the archive, as it would not let me post them due to invalid extensions. Crash can be triggered reliably by talking to the guide and asking him to direct the party to the marketplace. For the drow, I figured something went wrong. Basically I start the game in a drow dungeon, right next to the entrance. I thought maybe it's some sort of "escape from the prison" sequence, but the monsters were way too hard for level 1 characters with no equipment. I got the files from this thread. I wanted to wait for the moddb release, but I was so anxious to play, that I downloaded the ones from here. I guess I must have really messed something up with the installation, though I don't really know what could go wrong with copy-pasting some files.
I loaded your save and was able to go to the market without a hitch. Combined with the drow dungeon, it sounds like something wrong with your install... Speaking of which, I don't understand then how you got to Sumberton if you start in the drow dungeon? Edit: Ok lol, I figured it out - you're using your KotB installation folder, aren't you? This will screw things up for sure. You need to activate the Co8 module since KotB includes DLL edits that change the startup map.
No, that is not correct at all. You should start the game in what is called the "Shop Map" and this allows you to purchase equipment, and when you exit that map you are dumped on the edge of the town. The Drow dungeon is the second adventure, and you should not start directly there and you should not be naked. As per the install instructions and the advice above, make sure you DO install the latest version of Co8 (8.1), then Anatoliy's over the top of it, because it uses all the Co8 fixes (KotB includes them seperately and is thus a huge install - SGoS doesn't, and isn't).
*sigh* OK Ive tried to fix this without bugging you guys but I cant get the module to run, in fact now I cant get Temple+ to run either, despite clean re-install. I dropped the module into "modules" as directed but Temple+ insists its missing "toee1.dat" even though I can see it in the main folder and I copied it to the "modules" folder as well. I made the mistake of launching Temple+ despite the "missing" file and now Temple+ crashes regardless which module (including TOEE) I choose and clean re-install of Temple+. It continues to insist its missing toee1.dat, even after re-install, its just being obstinate about it. Maybe this is a question for Sitra or doug?
