It could just be the difference of a computer game that is simply following the rules as they are written where there is no DM to intercede, and a PnP session where the DM can see what is going on and make on the fly command decisions.
yeah definitely an engine limitaion like the classic gold box games, ahhh the power of the human dual class ranger mage............... game couldnt handle a distinction between the rangers mage spells and the mages um mage spells so full power magic missiles from the ranger list, and being that a ranger can cast their mage spells in armour the engine limitations couldnt distinguish between the 2 lists again so casting delayed blast fireballs in plate, nice. most powerful class in pools of darkness (IMO) think was fixed in the gateway/treasures of savage frontier games, the amour thing was but i dont think the ranger spells casting at mage level was ahh good times
In case people still read this thread... can't make the custom portraits to work with Templeplus. I downloaded the 6 dat files from https://www.moddb.com/mods/temple1/downloads/co8-portrait-packs and dropped them on my Temple of Elemental Evil root folder, but I get no new portraits available when creating a character Please help?
I am pretty sure that you need to activate the portrait pack using the Co8 front-end; those DAT files will sit doing nothing otherwise.
In my current playthrough I have once again the only serious problem there is in my opinion with TemplePlus. Whenever I raise the difficult level in TemPleplusm configuration/House Rules/Difficulty/NPC Stat Boost, by incrasing NPC Stats, even the NPC's I have defeated in previous battles, no matter how long ago, also gain the stat boost and come back alive. For example when I enter the Moathouse Respawn the room with the witch, where Lareth used to be the at the beginning, Lareth and all of his goons are back alive. So the room with them and the witch and her company is really crowded. And most of the time those two different factions battle with each other ignoring me. Maybe there is a chance that when you raise NPC stats monster that are already dead and most of them even "decayed" could stay dead in a future version.
Thanks, if you want here should be a savegame where you can go to Imredy Run. An area I had solved long ago, But since I raised NPC stats by two levels all monsters now are back including my old druid animal companion. So now there are two Jackal companions. But probably this only works if you as welll change your Templeplus configuration in the House Rules/Difficulty/NPC Stats to a plus 2.
