Hmm, I am currently encountering an occasional CTD every so often. Any ideas to avoid this in future?
I'm really terribly sorry. I did get an error message but stupidly failed to use the windows+ printscxreen button to capture the message. It seems things work now, but, if this happens again, I will be better prepared. Hmm, do these error reports appear in a file somewhere within the TOEE folder, and, if so, where?
From Temple+ Support (https://rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/temple-support.98897/) Describe your configuration what Temple+ build are you using? Are you using the Co8 modpack, GoG version, or something else? Post the log file Temple+ generates a log file whenever you run the game. The file is located at: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\TemplePlus Where <USERNAME> is your Windows username. Make a copy of the log file immediately after an issue occurs! Otherwise, if you start the game again after the problem has occurred, it will overwrite the log file and then it will be of no use to us. Reproduction steps How did the bug happen? What actions did you take before? Were you doing anything out of the ordinary? Crash Dump File If the game crashes, it will create a dump file and a popup message containing the file name. Please upload this file. It is also critical to upload the log or at least inform us which version you are using in this case! Attach a save game demonstrating the problem This is usually really helpful and saves us precious time in trying to reproduce the bug, especially when it's a bug that occurs under very specific circumstances. See Instructions For Uploading a Save. Instructions for uploading a save game: Go to your ToEE/modules/ToEE/saves folder. From there, look up the save's name, and upload all the associated files. There should be 6 files, all with the same base name (slot####) but with different extensions. You can put them in a zip file and upload it here if it's not too large (up to 1MB). If it is larger than that, you can try a file sharing site like Media Fire or Rapidshare, or split it up into multiple files. example: Code: slot0002[save name].gsi (where [save name] is replaced with the name of your save game) slot0002.co8 slot0002.tfaf slot0002.tfai slot0002l.jpg slot0002s.jpg Attaching files If you are a new user here, you will need to upload to an outside service (such as Wikisend.com). Veteran users can just attach it to their post. I think you can post the required files to either Co8 or Temple+ support. There is also an email address on the temple+ site that you can use to send your files to.
Do the Sudden metamagic magic feats work? I tried Sudden Widen with fireball, and it didn't widen the fireball. Against my party that's the only problem, but when I tried using it in the arena fight against the undead, all targets of the spell took just one damage.
I haven't tried with temple+, but before temple plus, I frequently took the regular Widen and it worked. I'll give it a shot in this playthrough though.
Posting just to confirm that Widen Spell works. However, the Sudden versions of Maximize, Widen, and Empower seem to not work. Just to confirm this isn't user error, I'll describe how I'm using the feats. I take the feats (Sudden Widen/Empower/Maximize). When I want to use one, I open the radial menu check the checkbox corresponding to the feat I want to use. Then, I cast a spell that the feat should apply to. When I take these steps the spells are, at best, unaffected by the feats.
One more thing I just realized, because I never checked before: the spell focus feats also seem to not work, according to the combat logs. So, casting hold person without the relevant feats makes the spell DC 17 for my level 5 wizard. After taking both Spell Focus (Enchantment) and Greater Spell Focus (Enchantment) I would have expected a spell DC of 19 for Hold Person. It remained at DC 17, and no other modifiers shown (like a minus to a saving throw).
Worked fine when i tested it. If you're sure about it, please post a savegame demonstrating this problem.
The way you are using the feats is correct. If you select the checkbox then the metamagic effect should be applied to the next spell that is cast. They worked correctly for me when I tested them. Let me double check the feats in the latest version of Temple+ and I will get back to you.
You're right, I thought I took the feats...but I didn't. Thanks! Regardless though I definitely appreciate the work. The work done by the modders on this forum have added years of enjoyment to a game that I would have abandoned after a few playthrough. *Salute*
