Well, perhaps it's all about how you play your characters. In my own experience and gameplay, an extra feat allows my characters to get vital abilities on an earlier basis, such as cleave/great cleave, or better spell-casting etc. Also, a lot of the nonhuman races have a stat penalty which negates the stat bonus, though, admittedly, the drow are an exception. And many of the extra nonhuman race abilities are easily negated by having a human fighter, for example, instead of a drow mage with longsword capabilities. I get the impression, though, that RL ad&d gameplay probably would make far better use of the nonhuman abilities than on a PC level.
Oh, I have just installed the latest tooe plus co8 plus temple+ patch and am trying again a new game. What concerns me right now is that the tce editor(ferros') does not load my newly created drow character. Is there any chance someone might be able to make the tce editor compatible with the latest temple+ update? Cheers!
Doughtful, IIRC the character editor wasn't even made by Co8, and Temple+ is doing things to characters currently that weren't in existence when the Character Editor was made.
1. Enable it in configuration 2. Click the little D button in the bottom right corner 3. Right click a character 4. Some changes require pressing apply
That reminds me. I don't have DM enabled in configuration, but I must have somehow loaded it in game by mistake, because the D button is always there. How can I remove it?
You probably activated it from the console. But the config should control it... maybe try checking and unchecking.
A note on Temple+; It seems that enemies can attack my spiritual weapons and hurt them with their mundane melee weapons, but if I attack one of the enemy's spiritual weapons it doesn't hurt them. Here's what the SRD says: Sure would be nice if a successful SR check dispelled an enemy's spiritual weapon. Either way, sure do love the quality of life changes presented by Temple+.
Odd, just put together a party of Aasimon and found no "not proficient" notes on ANY weapon or armot for the rogue or cleric.
I don't recall changing this in T+. IIRC Livonya gave SWs limited HP so AI can kill them, since it can't understand not to attack them in vanilla ToEE. Not sure why it would be different for PCs, which enemy had this? No. Why do you need to remove feats? Aasimar are Outsiders, and Outsiders are proficient with all martial weapons. This was added in one of the latest releases.
Regarding Spiritual Weapon, can you not his assign the player conjured SW's every faction to avoid NPC's attacking them?
Well I don't know anything about Temple+, but that sounds like a great idea (don't forget the trailing zeros ) But in any case, the change was only done to prevent the exploit of putting something into combat that was both a focus of the NPCs and undestroyable. There is no reason it shouldn't remain undestroyable for the player, since the player can ignore it and kill the caster like they are meant to.
One problem with the NPC Spiritual Weapon is that PC's seem to invariably choose it as a target of their Cleave or Great Cleave attacks.
