Hi!I'm sorry that I write my problem in this post but i need some help!!
I can't buy masterwork items from brother Smythe in Hommlet,in the dialog there is no such choice!
Does anybody know how I can fix that without having to buy the official patches?
Also,I play Temple of Elemental Evil with the crack and I know that some patches do not fix anything if the game is a copy and not original..

So you're playing ToEE with the crack? I have a solution for your problems: Buy the original! You'll probably find it for $5 in the bargain bin.

 

I believe buying masterwork items from Brother Smythe is part of the Co8 patch, which requires the official Atari Patch 2 to be installed. I suggest you just by the bargin bin version of the game, as the official patches and the patches and mods on this forum fix a ton of bugs in the original game and make it playable.

However,Mr.Orion79 told me that the bug for brother Smith can be fixed with eight mod.. so I downloaded everything I could!
Isn't everything allright now?
Without the original version won't I be able to run the patches and play temple?
Orion79 also told me to make sure I'll put them in the correct files which I(surprise!!)didn't understand either!
I just have to run the patches,don't I?

being precise, having brother smith selling masterwork items is not a fix but an addition made from the Co8. You did it fine downloading everything that you could, but you must install them in the proper order. Here is the step-by-step procedure: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1819
Then I told you to be sure to put files in the proper FOLDER, not the correct files! So, if you dowload, for example, drifter's fix for constitution bonus, you have to use it to hack the temple.dll file, THEN you must download my protos.tab that must be extracted in the "rules" folder, inside the main ToEE folder. Got it? We're trying to make this site user-friendly, but please read carefully instructions before posting.

 

If it is hard for you to answer my questions,you can simply don't reply.I read carefully what everybody writes but if I can't understand something,I'll probably write it in the wrong way!
I have downloaded all the stuff,but there's still a problem with the townmap.
Every time I click the map,the game is cancelled and there's a message which says that an error has occured....

 

did you download livonya's mod 1.5 with auto-installer or without? If you downloaded the second one, then you have to go inside the C:\Programmi\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\ToEE\maps
and delete all files with weird names like "3 enZ ynvgdijI", bur NOT the folders.
Otherwise there must be an error in your installation. In wich order are u installing the Co8 files and patches?

 

Actually,I reinstalled temple without now installing the co8 fan fixes and everything is ok.In the maps folder in the directory where I installed temple all the files have weird names and "enz".
I don't know what is happening,I always come out with a problem.

All this time I played it with only one patch and I think I have seen nothing yet!
Oh,I forgot!My wizard can throw as many magic missiles as he wants from the first level!There is an error in the line..It says 1/-511..

 

Sorry, are u installing Atari official patch 1 (if your game is USA/UK) and patch 2, before installing the Co8 stuff? They are essential. Anyway, that error, as many other should be fixed with Co8 patch.

 

I didn't install Co8 patch at this time because there was an error with the map.
I also..met 6 juggernauts in the temple and although I read the posts about the fix of that,I coulnd't find out what to do.
And another question,how can I make my characters to go up to a higher level than 10?

 

English is your second language, isn't it? If you want to level up over level ten you need the patches. I have no idea if the patches work on a cracked version of the game because my copy was bought and paid for (not by me but it's still the real deal) BUT to make full use of this site* you have to be able to install all the patches and I recomend all the offical mods as well. Congratulations you have just proved the theory that there is no limit to human stupidity.That post is written by something so confused, it doesn't know whether to scratch its watch, or wind its ass, if you can install patches do it, if you can but still like the game buy a cheep copy from k-mart or where ever, and FOLLOW the instructions in the read me files of the mods, if you do every thing it says then you game will be sweet.


*if you do nothing just use the walk throughts in gamebanshee or something because Co8 will just be a waste of time.

As I don't speak english very well it's logical that I can't understand your argo etc.
So if you like to help me can you post links for finding what I'm looking for?
I mean,regarding the juggernauts and how to level up over 10th level.
I just know and play dnd,I don't know much about games in pc and as I search I'm getting more and more confused.
