Got it, will do so and make sure the pack is IWD compatible. In the meantime, my latest party has a repeatable show-stopping bug - after completing the Easthaven quests, when Hrothgar takes us to Kuldahar I get a CTD when the cutscene ends, or immediately if I hit space to skip it. Very strange as it worked perfectly on my first party.

Just to be sure, reactivate patch 2 and try leaving Easthaven again. It sounds like the bug that crept into the release version of the demo.

Dangit. That was it, I forgot to apply the patch when I reactivated IWD.

[Edit] - on the plus side, played through with no issues using the BG portrait pack.

Ok, Uploaded Patch 3 here - it's not perfect, I think I screwed up the maplimits to the buildings in Kuldahar Pass... but I did fix the maplimits to the buildings in Easthaven, and made the Easthaven townspeople cry to Hrothgar for help if they are attacked, Hrothgar promptly (suddenly) arrives to defend his townsfolk to the death, which makes the rest of the game unreachable.

That sounds logical to me... Even in a sand box setting, some things should cross lines that have consequences upending the intended direction of the story. It makes sense to me that killing the people you're intended to save would be one of those things.

IWD Demo Patch 4 is here.

Fixed the remaining Maplimits, moved a couple of door icons in Kuldahar Pass and reduced the number of +1 Arrows down to the 9 arrows there were supposed to be.

Just over a year in the making, the final Demo version of the Icewind Dale Total Conversion for The Temple of Elemental Evil is finished.

You can download the IWD:ToEE Demo FINAL module from the link below.

Previous versions and patches for the module have been archived as they are taking up a huge chunk of my primary hard drive, they will be made available on request to people who require them.

    Installation Instructions:
    1. Install The Temple of Elemental Evil (not in a "program files" folder).

    2. Install ToEE official patches 1 & 2 (not patch 3. GoG versions need not apply any official patches as they come preinstalled).

    3. Install Co8 8.1.0 modpack (NC or Standard - doesn't matter which)

    4. Download the Icewind Dale Demo FINAL modpack.

    5. Extract the Icewind Dale Demo FINAL modpack zipped file to your ToEE installation folder.

    6. Run TFE-X.exe, select Icewind Dale Demo FINAL from the modules list and click activate. (a current error means you may need to force close and repeat the activation process - it should work second time around), locate your IWD installation folder.

    7. Download and extract the Icewind Dale Demo FINAL patch 1 from the link into your ToEE root folder, open TFE-X, click on "addons" select Icewind Dale Demo FINAL patch 1 from the list, and activate the addon.

    8. (Optional) activate the Icewind Dale Demo FINAL Portrait Pack in TFE-X.

    9. Launch the game.

I'm retiring this version of the modpack and a new base version is now available. This mudpack and the patches for it have been archived and will be made available on request to any who want it, please leave your requests on this thread.

The new mudpack is available in this thread.

I'm getting stuck at "please wait, activation in progress..." for hours. The demo, according to the log, is unpacked (***ACTIVATION COMPLETE***)

CO8 is installed - and installed fine. I've got a beefy rig, so I don't think it's performance related..

I had the same trouble. The issue is that the prompt for the original IWD game KEY file never pops up.

It is shown how to cure this in step 6 "(a current error means you may need to force close and repeat the activation process - it should work second time around)"

    This worked for me.

    Have you done this?

If I force close the ToEE Front End (aborting the process) and try to launch it again... instead of going through an automated installation process (like it did the first time) it instead wants me to navigate to a folder containing a infinity keyfile (.KEY).

No idea what or where that is.

    I do have IWD:EE installed.

EDIT: I manually selected chitin.key in my IWD:EE folder, and it is working. I can only imagine that the ToEE Front End assumes you are using IWD:EE through a GoG installation?

I've got IWD:EE via steam, so it's not where GoG would expect it.

For copyright issues, you must have a version of the original IWD game installed, and this prompt is for indicating where that original IWD game installation is.

If you don't have a version of the original IWD game, then you can't play the ToEE:IWD

@Allyx - you may want to edit the first post to better indicate that there is need for the original IWD being installed, and for better explaining the resolution in Step 6.
