No worries, Al, it is all for the fun of the game.

Am I the only one getting fairly consistent crashes when starting the game?

Typically it is after the first three movies play, before the IWD splashscreen with the blue scrollbar on it. And sometimes I make it to that screen, but the scrollbar gets stuck forever.

I routinely have to try running the game twice before it actually launches and runs fine on the third attempt... I don't know what's causing the crashes, or how to find out.

OK, for me it does average to two attempts, so I am glad that I am not alone in this.

I think it's related to swapping out the .mob and/or .sec files, hopefully as the module becomes more complete and those files no longer require editing the issue should just go away.

Here's a new one...after coming back from the Orc cave, my party freezes up just as they are coming to the bugbears they killed earlier. The game itself doesn't freeze up, the characters just can't move. The music still plays, I can click on a party member, etc. It doesn't seem to matter if I tried moving my whole party or just one character, they can't get past the spot.

I also tried an earlier save with my party on the bridge, and they can't get past that spot heading east towards the cave portal.

Huh, that's a new one on me, I've not had that issue.

Could you do a little testing for me? I'd like you to reactivate the module (without the patch 2 addon), delete modules/toee/maps folder, then activate the addon patch2, move the map folders from modules to modules/ToEE/maps and then try again?

I just want to make double sure your installation is as I expect it should be.

Yep, will try that now. I'm a software tester by trade, so I love doing stuff like this.

Sweet, just to be on the safe side, use a new game, not reloading an old one as this is known to cause issues with new static objects.

@Allyx - I've made it through the Pass into Kuldahar.

Everything is playing nicely. Oddly enough I did do the steps that you just recommended to montiac1 before I restarted, so I've had no troubles.

Thanks for all the help today in getting us this far.

Now there is much replay value while we patiently wait for more content to test out.

Is the Pass supposed to be a "pass the time" area? I don't recall that from the original game. I went into Kuldahar to rest; assuming you don't get disturbed in the process. How could Kuldahar survive with so many random monsters disrupting the peace? :p

Kuldahar Pass should allow camping IMO, but I still wouldn't recommend it, I camped once in the Orc cave by the top left chest and was ambushed and murdered by 3 huge vipers... Eeep

Ok, I've done some more alterations this morning.

    1. The Elite Goblin in Easthaven now spawns his random item and sets global_flags 15 to 1 - so he doesn't spawn another random item every time you enter the Easthaven exterior map.
    2. I juggled a couple of Old Jed's player responses around to prevent a long text entry overlaying the option below it.
    3. Added the Kuldahar Pass talking Goblin's dialogue and unset his KOS flag. (untested)

    4. Added Jermzy's dialogue. (untested)

    5. Fixed the file path for the next patch addon pack (not uploaded just yet).

There are a few more bits I want to put in before uploading the next version:

    1. exchanging the scroll of Prismatic Spray to Color Spray Done
    2. add a wolf pelt to the chest in House 5 Done
    3. check Hrothgar's feats, he seems to be using his sword two handed (bastard sword) even though he has a shield Done
    4. Add invensource.mes entries for all chests, shelves, Everard and Pomab's stores', check Pomab and Old Jed's personal inventories
    5. add an Icon for Old Jed's wine bottle
    6. Alter Jhonen's sword to an unwieldable item with new icon
    7. Fix the strategies for the Orc Shaman and Beetles', Done
    8. replace an Orc or two in the cave with another proto to mix up the strategies a bit.
    9. Add the Hermit that greets you as you get to Kuldahar Pass
    10. add the video that plays when entering Kuldahar for the first time (and end_demo command?)
    11. add camping videos when resting.

    TEST IT!

I've had a few crashes at that point, but it definitely plays most of the time.

I didn't do the Hermit's dialogue, did I? Missed that somehow.

I think Ghereg's Tower should be a safe resting area if you finish his quest and he leaves (ie if you have a Druid or Ranger in the party). Combat 3.5 style is simply going to be harder, no getting around it.

I believe so, though I can't recall the characters' name, I'll look it up in Near Infinity later if need be.
It could even be a safe resting area if you resort to killing Gherag, it's too small an area for camping encounters anyway.

I think that was my fault, I forgot to list him here.

He is called "Hermit" and uses the DHERMIT.DLG dialog file.
