Yeah, even the 'grace' period ended like a month ago. You won't get Win10 without paying now. I don't know the specific update, I keep my OS up-to-date. This page indicates it has the standalone update package for the latest DX11 (which seems to be 11.3) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113
Interestingly, I no longer get the Runtime error after deleting Directx 11 and reloaded it from a NON microsoft site.
I *really* don't recommend installing system components from third-party sources. Also, that's less 'interesting' than 'expected' since you basically described the solution of 'updating DX11'. Did it require you to uninstall the MS version of DX11? That would raise all kinds of red flags for me. If it were a legit update, it would not require you to uninstall.
I have an issue loading temple+ on an older machine for my kid, it has win7 sp1, and I get the following error Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: TemplePlus.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 575b2a4d Fault Module Name: TemplePlus.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 575b2a4d Exception Code: c000001d Exception Offset: 00054ae3 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Please post the logfile. Also, try turning off Anti-Aliasing in the Configuration utility. See the Support thread linked in my signature for more info.

Hi guys. A while ago I tried to give Temple+ a go , to no availe, apparently due to my GPU. I was thinking to upgrade but there's the problem. To say I don't know ANYTHING about computers other than turning on and off is an understatement. How do I know what shall I buy? To me all I see is a name like " Bla bla bla " followed buy a string of numbers and letters like " sgdfhjkg45r7623456" . FWIW I am running Vista on a Compaq and my card is "Intel (R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family". Any suggestion? ( Other than to check some computer forums which are equally confusing... ) Thanx
The Uninstall and re-install was recommended by Microsoft support (as well as a IT friend who is in town this week) and I downloaded from an Authorized third-party site
That chipset doesn't support DX11, which I'm sure you guessed. The good news is, pretty much any computer you buy new today is going to be able to run Temple+. I just bought an Asus Transformer T100HA, which is a 10" Windows 10 tablet with a keyboard dock. Temple+ runs flawlessly on it. You can find the tablet with dock on Amazon for about $250. It can even run Skyrim with a bit of tinkering (the display is only 1280x800 so that is a downer; I haven't used that resolution since 2005 haha).
I see no log file in the folder C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\TemplePlus, just my templeplus.ini The game crashes immediately after launching and may not be producing the log file.
I am playing ToEE with Co8 and Temple+ on my old Samsung laptop with 2GB RAM, Intel GL40 chipset and integrated GMA X4500HD graphics - which is only DX10 compatible, on Windows 7 32 bit and 1366x768 resolution (native). You could try to install Windows 7, because Vista is horrible system, much worse than 7 or XP. Also, 10" tablet screen is IMHO to small to enjoy games, try some budget laptop/notebook, with at least 4GB RAM and 14-15" screen.
