https://www.wesnoth.org/ It's a turn based strategy game with a fantasy setting. It's also free and open source. I didn't find it until very recently and it's now one of my favorite TBS's. Definitely something worth checking out!
it's also on the iOS store, though it's not free there. very cool game. Reminds me of Tactics Ogre Battle for the SNES and Playstation. lots of unique characters and scenarios, some of them VERY challenging to complete
Just tried this last night- it is a lot of fun, and challenging. Not traditional RPG, for sure, but good turn-based strategy game.
