I just started a new 8.1.0 game, and noticed that I can only talk to Gremag once. I can still trade with Rannos, but it's odd clicking on Gremag doesn't do anything anymore. I wonder if this is a symptom related to the other issues people have had with the Traders...
It happens to me a lot as well. I usually never deal with gremag for anything. Rannos never seems to cause issues.
I only talk to Gremag with a non-Paladin after finding the spy in the labor camp. If I use the Paladin to get the 100 gps instead of the 50 gps, the Paladin falls. After that, I only deal with Davos.
I am running the 8.1.0 standard mod pack that I downloaded 8/15/2014. Haven't run the NC mod as yet so don't know if this happens there as well.
I don't let Elmo or Meleny die. They are usually in my party. If they die, I restart and go again through the fight. I have a Paladin in my party and I have noticed that it falls if Elmo dies and I don't like that especially if I didn't do anything for it to happen. By what you are saying, it looks like since Elmo is a citizen of Hommlet, if he dies that gets you close to being a butcher of Hommlet, but then that is just a guess.
I just noticed something really strange (other than the problem with Dala telling me I killed everyone in the waterside hostel and they are all alive). I entered and my people weren't in their normal array for entering the hostel. Then Dala and Pearl were walking a straight line from about where Rentch is, through the wall to the room with the footlocker, then through the wall in that room and they kept going into the blackness. I am using 8.1.0 nc and this is the first time it happened. It also crashed shortly after that.
Should be anything over 7 as far as I know. The hostel thing is a fluke, happens sometimes on any map.
Got a game stopping glitch! I'm down to the last guardian (water node) and as soon as he rears up to do his thing the game stops responding. It is not lag as Task Manager reports as "not responding and I can't do any actions to get past this. Weapons don't seem to matter; happens if I hit him with fireballs, holy weapons or scather before his turn. everything seems normal until he gets ready to do his thing. I am running the standard mod. Any suggestions? I've already gotten the skull and the path by throne is open so I don't have to kill him to get to end game but I want to have the gem to put in the skull before Pishella destroys it.
I know I can use an invisible rogue to pickpocket the gem and sneak behind the Hezrou to get out of the node. And I did that just to finish the game. But I am keeping the save game before the encounter so maybe I can eventually get through the glitch and completely clear all the nodes. Got another question though. After I killed Zuggtmoy within 4 days of the skull's destruction the video that played said she was banished for 66 years instead of saying she was destroyed. I am playing the standard mod and wonder if this ending was changed to accommodate those going on to Verbobonc in the NC mod. I will be loading and playing the NC mod next and need to know if I have to remove/inactivate the std mod first. Thanks for any info.
Can you post a save that demonstrates the Water Node issue? (see instructions in sig) Re. Zuggtmoy, did you accept the pillar? I think that causes it. Re. NC You can activate the NC module overtop the standard.
Here is the save of the glitch. The fight goes normally until the Hezrou acts then He freezes along with the game in mid-rearing. Hopefully the file upload worked.
