Why aren't we able to use spellcraft to decipher scrolls? According to the rules, a spellcraft check is the legit way for a spellcaster to decipher written magic:
You only have one try per day according to the table. I guess the developpers didn't bother to include that aspect of the skill. :/ Crafting a "Helm of Magic Reading" using the feat "Craft Wondrous Items" allows you to use infinitely the spell "Read Magic". Very nice to identify all your scrolls and potions.
It also helps identify potions- and as many potions there are to find in this game, the Helm will pay for itself- unless you either sell or use unidentified potions...
It's funny how poison and a healing spell look exactly the same, (except one doesn't have a number in the lower right corner).
I usually just assume they're healing potions(if they're blue) and chug them...or sell them if I need more space.
Haha take care of poison... unless you trust your guts (and anus). I think heroism potions are also almost the same, slightly lighter blue IIRC. You also win space by identifying as those of the same kind stack together when you displace them in the inventory.
