Co8 8.1.0 bugs

    On the disease, you have to make the save twice, the first save is to see if you take stat damage and the second to be done with the disease.

    Successful + successful = no disease

    The saves are rolled a day or so apart also.

    Great job on the update! :clap:

    I had noticed a minor detail in the Atonement spell that needs a fix. I had forgotten to add a focus cost of 500 gp to the casting of the spell and attached is the fix!
    Don't forget it goes into the "...\Temple of Elemental Evil\data\scr\" folder.

    Hope this is the right place to post this.

    With Modpack 8.0.0., I seem to be stuck behind the iron portcullis on the Earth Temple Floor of the Temple (2nd floor). The first and last time I played a game, it attacked me somehow and started duplicating itself with an AC of around 2 and about 300 HP EACH. I deleted the game as it was taking forever to tear it down. :dizzy:
    In the game I'm on now, I simply cannot interact with the portcullis at all. I'm stuck behind it with no way out other than that of a Teleport or a Wish (not sure if it's in this game). I'd really love to get out of there. Otherwise I won't get to see much of what you added. :(

    If you really want to continue with a game in 8.0.0 I recommend you download the .01 patch.

    The latest version of the modpack 8.1.0 has not had any reported issues, (that I've seen) with that gate.

    Are you able to click on the bottom of the gate and initiate a dialog with it?

    Initially, yes. I was able to converse, in a manner of speaking, with the gate. But all three options (I forget what they are) did not work. I was simply stuck. I assume I would have been able to proceed after destroying the replicas of the gate, but destroying the first one alone is a tedious task, and if I remember correctly, it's spell immune. Regardless, I tried Knocking it earlier today, but to no avail. It seems to exist, but not as an interactable object. As such, I cannot converse, attack, or otherwise interact with the gate, and my Wizard is not of sufficient level to Teleport the party away. Is there a way to proceed without installing the next modpack?

    Use the map that is put in your backpack when you enter the temple. Tell it you want to go to the upper level.

    Small issue but I noticed that Otis didn't recognize Elmo in my party. When we approached, Otis didn't initiate the "hello Elmo. How are you? How are mom and dad?" Etc etc.

    Also the 'sphere of influence' around the chest the blacksmith has you open is gigantic (at least in my game) making it difficult sometimes to even talk to the smith as it clicks into the open chest routine. That may be just a weird nuance of TOEE though as I've sometimes seen that type of behaviour before.

    Thanks for the save. Unfortunately I haven't been able to trace the cause... let us know if something like that happens again.

    Hello Again. I just had the problem come up again. This time it was after the hero's quest but it was after Elmo got to level 7 (I had to get 8 xps for this). It happened when I just entered Hommlet. This time Brother Smyth offered 4 items (nothing after the numbers) and I got a Masterwork Half-Plate.

    I am attaching a save (in the zip) and a picture (in the zip entitled problem because the jpg is 372 in size). The save is before the problem. The picture is of the problem. I have it now in windowed mode (I work as an internet tutor and play the game when no one is around).

    This may not be a bug but I have to ask....

    I just upgraded the holy sword that Meleny's father gave me to +2 and on the way to Nulb, I ran into 1 Knight (LG), 4 Siren Cultists (NE), 1 Fiendish Giant Constrictor Snake (LE), and 1 Dire Bear (TN). Once I got on the local screen for an world map encounter, they attacked. My Paladin didn't fall. Is there something wrong with this or is this part of the new random encounters that I have noticed and like to a point (low level and having high level bad guys???).

    I also have had the Otis problem with Elmo. And are all the NPC's not supposed to cast spells when you walk in? Burne casts Mage Armor when my party enters the guard tower.

    Same here, I've been waiting till dark and he moves higher up away from the chest before I try to talk to him.

    The cultists' schtick is that they charm things. That knight was one such victim :) You can nonlethally take him down if you want to RP.

    It might kick in a little earlier than intended if you have a large party, that much is true. Will tweak that.

    As for NPCs casting, I recall making that depend on the party alignment for a few of them. It always seemed weird to me that they would go all defensive when good natured adventurers were around.

    Not 100% sure if it's a bug, but Elmo turns on me when I cast grease and it hits any of the NPC party members (Elmo, Furnok, animal companion, summon etc). It seems a bit drastic when he starts killing my party just because my summoned attack dog caught in the area of effect. Furnok and the other NPC party members mentioned above don't care even if I target them directly.
