a newbie question regarding the beta patch...

Do I simply unzip all the files into my ToEE folder?
I did that but dont think my game is properly patched.

Guys, we should really make a downloadable FAQ list to explain those things and how to post in the forum. Anyway, no: don't unzipp all files directly in the ToEE folders: unzip them in the desktop, then open the ToEE folder and move the files inside the unzipped folders inside the ones with the same name of ToEE folder.
For example, there is the rules folder inside the archive: move all the files inside that folder inside the rules folder contained inside the ToEE main folder, replacing all files. Maybe there are some folders fom the zip archive that must just be moved inside other folders. I don't remember now, but maybe the ones related to maps. In case, just try by yourself and make note about the ones about wich you are unsure, then ask again.

The README file included with the beta patch will tell you all you need to know about installing it.

    Great Mod livonya, great work!

I've come to the multiple juggernaut bug and I`ve been looking for the small fix someone has speak of in the thread, but I`ve been unable to find it, if someone is generous to show me where can I find it, I will gratefull.

Also, when reporting to the water high priest for the first task completed,
everybody there atacked me, then is when the second juggernaut apear.

Well I don`t mind if I`m not able to complete the task and fight against them
as I were killing them in the end, but I think it`s good to say it doesn`t work, either way.

And another small problem I faced at the begining. The first time I start the mod, I losted Elmo!! . Well, I take him with me the first time I encontered him, but I get him out of the party for a while at hommlet and when I returned for him, he wasn`t were I leave him, neither the inn nor walking around!!!!

I started a new game and didn`t get rid of him any more!

    Spoiler

Sorry, right now I don't find the thread for spolers, so I spoil here:

Liv, after that I used the console to summon the Thormmel's general with Scather, the game took again his regular speed, after 21 days (still really a lot of time...) the woodcutter told me the great news that the wizard answered to him and showed me the list of items.
Now, there is a question and maybe 2 bugs.
1 - why should that wizard sell a normal composite longbow STR +2? The smith already does and it is a normal item..... I don't understand. Would you mid to replace it with a cloack of charisma +4? It is a very important item for paladins, clerics (turn undead), sorcerers and bards that have noone and, after all, usefull for almost every class.
2 - only 5 items are displayed at once so, before buying the Excalibur, I had to buy the DragonHide and the Bow of Frost (or whatever), to "free slots".
3 - since I understood that I was victim of a bug, at first I was looking for a real wizard and casually I found the woodcutter dialogues strings.
Many looks inactive and, after buying the 3rd item, he just quits the conversation but there is no track of the funny subquest about a courrier with my possessions that has been captured by a band of monsters.

and..... well, 4th: do you plan to fix excalibur so that he becomes closer as much as possible to the real Holy Avenger?
If you agree, as I already wrote elsewere, it would be great if Filken would give to the party a masterwork cold-iron LONGsword for marring her daughter instead than that holy longosword+1 (look at bodak, they have the cold iron resistance only so that you could code that weapon easily easily), that makes more sense. Later, that cold-iron longsword could be sent to that wizard from the woodcutter, if a paladin is in the party, so that it may be enchanted into a Holy Avenger. I see weapons with an allignment like something extremely rare and I don't see why a merchant should have one and changing the game in this way would make it a bit harder in the beginning and would give the party a valuable reward in the long distance.

Interesting bug (I think) using 1.5.

Talked to Marek to attempt to start the trilogy of quests he begins (his conversion and solving the barn quests). My pretty Pelor cleric has maxxed out all conversation skills, although her CHA is only 15 at this point. Marek grumbles about being lonely and then shuts up. Only gives me the option to ask about bandits in conversation; can't get back to the lonely screen.

So, I figure perhaps between the lower CHA bonus and low level at the time (either 1 or 2, don't remember which), chances are she's not flirty enough to get him to open up. Same issue with several other NPCs (the spy guy, the other conversion).

Well, cleric hits level 3, get the +WIS +CHA +INT spells, cast em...and same problem with Marek. Only wants to talk about bandits, and then boots you to the original screen. Other NPCs in town now are more than happy to do whatever my cleric suggests.

So...was curious if anyone else is getting this problem, since either it's a bugged script or you need an insanely high set of stats to get any response, which is probably a bug in and of itself. Thanks.

You need a charisma of 17-18 to make it work. Preferrably 18 , it works for sure. 15 just isn't good enough.

CHA of 18+ post-casting Eagle's Splendor or 18+ in general? I was at 19 when I tried it the second time, which is why I didn't bother posting before that...

    Edit:

Just tried this again after selling off everything I own and getting 8K gp to make a +4 CHA cloak. Even with that and +3 to CHA from Eagle's Splendor(so a 22 CHA) + decent diplomacy/etc scores, only option is to talk about bandits.

Might just be me that's buggy as I can't play without deleting the temp map files every time before booting, but might be something to look at.

Wait wait wait... Marek is meant to marry Meleny's sister isn't he?

(Is this D&D or Days of our Lives? ;-))

Go talk to Filliken (Meleny's dad) or Althea (Meleny's sister) and see if that helps.

I usually start those quests from the first house on the left as you enter the village.

Recommendation: Go to GameBanshee.com and read the walkthru's. You can print them if you like. A charisma of 18+ should trigger anything, but sometimes it depends on who you're talking to and in what order. Those Hommlet quests will run you in circles all over town. Rather than trying to explain each incident it would be much quicker to read the walkthru's. You have to do those quests in the right order/sequence or it doesn't workout.

Mea culpa - thought I'd started that quest when I started the game (I played this a lot about 18 months ago) and then looked and realized I'd never done cupid's arrow. D'oh. Thanks for the help, no bug, although I have a bad feeling about how stable this is gonna be later...

Hi, I'm noob around these parts. Regarding the installation process, I deleted those gibberish map files where I also put your mod map files, but I noticed they keep coming back after running the game. Must I do this over and over again everytime starting up toEE?

    No.

If the game is running fine, don't worry about it. I tihnk the initial delete is because Liv has added some map-related files (mob files). But the game always seems to create those weird ones.

    Filliken the daughter beater

Another strange bug, I recruited (married) Meleny, and life was good, death (hers) is not so good, because even though I ressurected her, when I returned to her father's house to see if I could find out any more about the stealing farmers, Filliken and Althea went hostile! I'm wondering if her faction is changed by the ressurection the same way Larreth's was?
