Hi. last time i played TOEE it turned out that i was unable to create some items i needed cause spells prerequisite for them are not obtainable from stores/loot and can only be picked on level up. Unfortunately i no longer remember names of these spells. Can You folks help me out? Which arcane spells my wizzard/sorcerer needs to research by himself?

I was planning to use my cleric of pelor for weapon and armour creation. While my wizard and my sorcerer will create wondrous items. Is that a good idea?

Divine casters are good for stat boosters, since they get the requisite spells for free rather than having to learn them at level up or from a scroll; ditto they get the requisite spells to add flaming damage (druids electricity and cold too I think).
Royal Canadian's item creation guide is probably your best bet for detail.

Only divine spellcasters (clerics or druids) who know the Heal spell are able to craft the wondrous item Periapt of Wound Closure which, in my opinion, is one of the most powerful items in the game! Equip every character in your party with a Periapt of Wound Closure and they will be VERY hard to kill!

For a list of all of the spell requirements for crafting wondrous items, see green slime's spreadsheet of The Royal Canadian's spreadsheet in the link below:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1moOmTYuOHcDksS15oImamcyOGP1dOXFJN1U5eEcGb60/edit?usp=sharing

These are the requirements to be able to enchant weapons with the following special abilities:

Holy: creator must have a caster level of at least 7 and good alignment and Good domain, +1 weapon or better.

Axiomatic: creator must have a caster level of at least 7 and lawful alignment and Law domain, +2 weapon or better.

Unholy: creator must have a caster level of at least 7 and have evil alignment and Evil domain, +2 weapon or better.

Anarchic: creator must have a caster level of at least 7 and have chaotic alignment and Chaos domain, +2 weapon or better.

Flaming Burst: creator must have a caster level of at least 12 and know the Flame Blade or Flame Strike or Fireball spell, +2 weapon or better.

Icy Burst: creator must have a caster level of at least 10 and know the Chill Metal or Ice Storm spell, +2 weapon or better.

Shocking Burst: creator must have a caster level of at least 10 and know the Call Lightning or Lightning Bolt spell, +2 weapon or better.

Defending: creator must have a caster level of at least 8 and know the Shield or Shield of Faith spell, +1 weapon or better.

Keen: creator must have a caster level of at least 10 and know the Keen Edge spell, +1 weapon or better.

Mighty Cleaving: creator must have a caster level of at least 8 and know the Divine Power spell (Cleric 4, War 4), +1 weapon or better. Wielder of the weapon must have the Cleave feat.

    Armour:

Spell Resistance (13): creator must have a caster level of at least 15 and know the Spell Resistance spell, +2 armour or better.

Silent Moves: creator must have a caster level of at least 5 and know the Silence spell.

What do "mighty cleaving" and "defending" actually do? Is mighty cleaving useless if the user already has the great cleave feat?

    More questions!

    1. Which weapon damage type is most useful? Holy? Fire? Axiomatic? other?
Which one is second most useful? And why?

    2. When i install the 8.0.1 path should i see these numbers somewhere? I see only 8.0.0 everywhere. How can i verify if game got patched?

    3. Are end bosses in this game resistant to sneak attack? is sneak attack viable in end game?

    4. Arcane Spells! I plan to have both sorcerer and a wizard in my party.
    a) What spells are best pick for a sorcerer?
    b) What spells are necessary pick for a wizard? (necessary because they are good but there are no scrolls for them in this game so if i do not pick them on level up/char creation i will newer get them)

Thanks for any advices already given.

Imo, Holy(2d6 vs 1d6, and most enemies are evil) is the best with shock second(very few enemies are resistant to shock) and frost third. Many enemies are resistant to fire or will put up protection from fire spells before you can attack.

1- Since most of the enemies you fight are evil, chaotic or both, Holy and Axiomatic IMO would be the most useful...

2- Check the in game help menu- I think it shows up there...

3- As I use my rogues more as archers I've never used there sneak attack ability as melee attacks but I believe you can get a sneak attack with missile weapons (of course, I could be totally wrong as well)...

4- As far as wizard spells if you are playing the NC there are more than a few places as to get scrolls throughout the game so I wouldn't worry too much about not finding a particular spell (unless you need it for crafting purposes). As far as most useful that depends on the type of wizard you want to play.

I use mine mainly as generalists but the spells I tend to pick over and over are: Magic Missile, Enlarge Person, Grease, Protection from Evil, Glitterdust, Cat's Grace, Web, Fireball, Stinking Cloud, Haste, Dismissal, Lesser Globe of Invulnerability, Confusion, Phantasmal Killer, Cone of Cold, Break Enchantment, Cloudkill, Teleport and Disintegration.

I tend to use my sorcerers as the heavy firepower and protection specialists, so I give them these spells: Magic Missile, Enlarge Person, Charm Person, Scorching Ray, Glitterdust, Mirror Image, Fireball, Protection from Energy, Ice Storm, Stoneskin, Phantasmal Killer, Shout, Cone of Cold, Dismissal, Feeblemind, Mind Fog, Cloudkill, Disintegrate, Eyebite and Greater Heroism.

You can sneak attack with missile weapons within 30', and Gehennis is absolutely right about Holy Axiomatic weapons being the most efficient (I usually add Shock and Frost too).

You do get the sneak attack bonus with missile weapons if you are within 30 feet iirc. I don't use axiomatic, because I would either need 2 clerics or my one would lose tons of exp. Holy is a big enough drain by itself. A little metagaming could alleviate that issue I guess. Spoiler...

Have your group specialize in the longsword, ranseur, spiked chain, and great hammer. Add Scather, and over the course of the game you would save a bunch of exp and still have a bunch of holy weapons.

That would be one way of doing it I guess.

Like it was said earlier, a rogue gets her sneak attack with a missile weapon if she's within 30 feet of her target and it is flat footed, (30 feet is also the limit for her point blank shot feat).

I pretty much count on my rogue doing heavy damage for me as my prime missile attacker.

Mighty Cleaving allows the wielder of the weapon to cleave 1 more time during their attack, which makes the ability useless if the wielder already has the feat Great Cleave.
Defending allows the wielder of the weapon to convert part or all of the weapon's enhancement bonus to improve the wielder's AC (Armor Class) instead. For example, the wielder of a +3 Defending weapon can select (via the radial menu) to improve their AC by 3 but reduce their weapon's enhancement bonus to +0 until the wielder's next turn during combat.

As others have already stated, Holy is the most useful BY FAR! Axiomatic is the second most useful. Either Shocking Burst or Icy Burst is the third most useful (some monsters are immune to electrical damage, some monsters are immune to cold damage, some monsters take double cold damage!).

While the game is running and your party is in the game world, click on the Help button at the bottom right corner of the screen and then click on the Circle of Eight section - the correct version of your game will be displayed here. If it doesn't display 8.0.1 here, then it means that you haven't activated the 8.0.1 patch.

Zuggtmoy is immune to critical hits and sneak attacks. In one of my playthroughs, I had a lot of rogues in my party but few fighters - the combat against Zuggtmoy lasted for A LONG TIME as my party slowly whittled Zuggtmoy's enormous number of Hit Points down to zero.
I believe that the Balor Guardians, Iuz avatars, and St. Cuthbert avatars are susceptible to critical hits and sneak attacks.

As others have already stated, it depends on how you want to play your sorcerer and the rest of the characters in your party. Sorcerers have access to very few different spells that they are capable of casting, so you must choose carefully. If you still seek advice from other players as to what they think are the "best" spells, then in my opinion, I think that the following are some of the most useful and effective spells for a sorcerer to select:
    Charm Person
    Enlarge Person
    Magic Missile
    Mirror Image
    Haste

All of the following information is taken from the game guide sticky thread. Please consult the game guide and do a word search in that thread in future.
