I had this condition with Liv's way-back Kids/Traps beta mod, but not with her modern era stuff. You do have the 1.5 or 1.5.1 release, right? (Silly question, but we all do silly things now and then.)

    Broken Tower oddity

Playing through the broken tower fight a few times, I noticed that Lareth (assuming he's among that crew) pretty consistently gets silenced by one of the witches' area effect spells, rendering him somewhat less effective. Also, there's one guy (brigand footman, I believe) who stands around in the SW corner doing nothing while the battle rages around him.

Note that in this scenario I'm spreading my people around before the battle because I'm buds with Lareth, so they're not all bunched up by the front door like normal.

For memory this is a pretty well-attested 'bug', pre-Liv. Should be fixable if she or anyone else feels inclined to do it: but not caused by Liv.

Another bug that I've noticed is that the game often quits to desktop when the assassins come to seek me in my home in Nulb.
More, I was reflecting on lareth: why that idiot fights with 2 weapons? A cleric will eventually strike nothing with that -2 penality and will loose AC granted by shield that is fairly much more important.

Elmo as well: he wishes to become a ranger but he starts the game with a magic axe and a magic shield instead than with a second light weapon. Does it have any sense?

    Yep

I always wanted Elmo to have 2 light weapons... After all a ranger with an axe and shield? Maybe Liv will fix it? Wink, hehe.

Ah, another weird thing: when the assassins came to kill me in nulb, I made a suggestion on the barbarian with spiked chain and he had 100 Hps. I had to save & reload many times because that fight was setted for a balanced party and not a scum bag like the one that I'm currently using, but I noticed that when I killed the barbarian, he had 66 Hps. I realyl don't know how to explain this: did the game re-roll HPs each time that I re-loaded the game?

Yes I have the up to date version. Strange thing is the first time I installed the mod it worked fine. When I reinstalled everything after buying a larger hard drive and now the kids don't appear.

Orion, have a look at the standard 2-weapon fighting script in Black Jay's .py thing (00002). Compare it to Lareth's .py thing (00060). Then, hack away!

Jobster - have you cleared out all the weirdy named maps? It's got to be an install problem. Might be worth patching Liv's mod again and clearing out map folder. See if that makes a difference.

Thanks. I forgot to clear out the maps. On another issue is it possible to fix the detect evil spell. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Takes the fun away from having a paladin in the party if you cant'figure out who is evil and not.

Yes. The game rolls for HP every time you encounter a new creature.

I don't know if there's a way to fix it, but if activate Detect Evil, then open and close your inventory, it will work.

I would like it if Livonya's final mod came in packages that I could chose from during installation. Or at least a couple different versions of the files I need to overwrite.

I think its cool to make mods to the game to fix broken monsters or quests such that they act more like they are "supposed to", as well as add new quests and items, spells, etc that should have been in the game if Troika had more time to do all of this themselves.

I'd like an option to exclude things like upgrades to monsters that place them outside the scope of a 10th level party. For instance, the guardian demons are tough enough to defeat without using an auto-hit sword, even when they are not working properly. If you fix their powers and add more powers they essentially become 400+ HP monsters with very high saving throws and save DCs, then that encounter level is well above 12th level. IF I Am going to powergame a party and use exploits like power attack + scather, then I would enjoy the challenge of super demons, otherwise I don't want extreme demons, just challenging demons.

Likewise if monsters are significantly buffed in earlier parts of the game then the "typical" progression players take through the game won't see them at an appropriate power level to deal with your upgraded monsters. I dont want to have to 'repeat-sleep' generating random encounters just to power-up to take on extreme changes you've made to the game, if Im playing in "normal mode". If I want these extreme challenge, I want it to be an option in your mod, not an all or nothing inclusion.

Basically, I'd like an "expansion pack" that polishes up the original game, plus an "extreme pack" that promises to challenge people with game-tweaks that are not necessarily game balanced or carefully implemented, such as what youve done with the Guardians (and Lamia?) in your beta version. I'd like the option to take advantage of your many improvements without using the more extreme changes youve made to the game. Then I'd like the option of playing with your extreme changes too. I.E. Monsters that gain +20 or more to reflex or will saves, or cause saves of DC 24 or greater should only exist in the "extreme pack". D&D PCs arent really supposed to run into that stuff until around 12th to 16th level.
