Another vote for human and bugbear raiding/patrol/headhunting parties.

Make them at least the power equivalent of the player's current party, varying by number of combatants and levels
For example: a party of 7-12 evil humans, 2 to 4 spellcasters, 3 or 4 archers, and 2 to 4 tough fighters.
Same with bugbears: a handful of greater temple buggies, some archers, and a few spellcasters.

Have some of these patrols led by higher level evil characters roving the landscape looking for the PCs to exact revenge and try to retrieve their artifacts/items stolen from the temple.

They should be equipped with good gear, some light magic items, but mostly regular or high quality mundane weapons/armor.

All of the models are currently in game, it just needs a little scripting.

Make it a tough fight, not impossible, but not easy either.
If the party is low on HP and spells, the patrol shoud be able to kick it's ass, forcing a re-load.
No guaranteed bounty of loot and experience.

It keeps you on your toes.
The wilderness should be just that: wild and dangerous.
Especially after what the party just did to the local temple.

A good wilderness encounter to me is a large group of Gnolls, maybe two or three sergeants, a leader and a bunch of footpads.

They could be on their way to the Temple and being out in the woods had not heard that it fell.

Black Dragons make wonderful swamp encounters, as do Cryo-Hydras. Ogre-Mages, Hobgoblins and Goblins riding on Worgs would be awesome, too.

There is no improved grab in the game... Apart from that, I personally don't want to see another animal as my opponent.

Wouldn't we be needing to destroy them and loot their corpses? Who will then be doing our modding for us? Would we not then be needing to LIFT A FINGER? (shudders) :nervous:

It's not that hard, you just need to pick the feat Forge Scripts and Dialogues, preceded by Spell Focus: Python and Weapon Specialization: ToEEWB. This build also greatly benefits from the feat Iron Will, not to mention Favored Enemy: Insects.

But wouldn't you need immunity to Mind Effecting Spells?

I hear insanity runs rapid among dll modders.

Of course if they just killed and looted the sirchet in the group it wouldn't change any of the modding going on. :)
