Ok, first, thanks for all the help you've given me. This is my first time posting but I've read a lot from the site here. Now on to the problem. Started out with Elmo disappearing. His portrait is still in the party but his body is not, so I can't talk to him to tell him to leave, nor can I target him to kill him. When I go into battle he completely disappears from the battle portraits. I say all this because what I figured I would do was to tell him to go away, then go back to the tavern and recruit him again in hopes that his body would re materialize. From reading a few threads here I found the problem could be the graphics card. I have an Nvidia 560TI. I've been playing this for about a week and never had this problem with Elmo or anyone else. I did go into the control panel for the card and make a couple of changes before I started playing today but once I saw the thread I went back and deleted those changes. It still happens. On top of that I went back to an "OLD" save and Elmo was still there. I will not be going back to that save to begin playing again though. I changed the resolution in the game as well hoping that it would solve the problem. It did not. So I thought about console commands. I found this here http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3288 and this here http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1676 which give a couple of ways to remove the character. So I try them out. First I do pc.follower_remove( game.party[2] ) which gives me an error of (traceback most recent call thread) File string line 1 in ? . So off to the second try. I type in game.party[0].follower_remove( game.party[X+1]) where X is a 0 and 1 is the number of the person I'm trying to remove -1. Anyway, I can remove all other NPC EXCEPT for Elmo. So on to try number 3. I tried entering the command die. It worked! but he always stablizes before he dies all the way and even if he died all the way I can't seem to spawn him using create 20008 which is his number in my .mes file but that always spawns a door.....don't know why but it does. I have 3 saved files but all but the 1 are back very far into the game and I'd probably just stop playing the game rather than have to go back through some of those battles, quests and whatever else. Please help. I really have tried to do everything I can think of and it really sucks not having Elmo help out in some of these fights.
You might try this: http://www.co8.org/forum/showpost.php?p=45609&postcount=11 As regards the first solution (pc.follower_remove( game.party[2] ), did you console 'from co8 import *' first?
Thanks for the response Gaear. I tried what was on that link and the feedback I got that time in the console was "0". I've found that when a follower is successfully removed the response is "1". As for spawning the npc I've found what was wrong with that. There are a couple of different same names in that .mes file and I just had to find the right one. So I feel that if I was able to get him out of my party I would be able to make things right. EDIT: I've looked through a bunch of threads with people doing exactly as you had me do and it all seemed to work for them so I tried giving it another shot. I put Elmo as the right most party member and entered game.party[0].follower_remove( game.party[7]). In returned I received the number 0 after I hit enter with Elmo still in the party. I reloaded and tried with another NPC in the same spot with the same command and was rewarded with a number 1 and that NPC left the party after I hit enter. If I'm doing this with another NPC it works fine but for some reason Elmo refuses to leave. Hmmm Edit Edit? I finally killed him with the console command "die". It took a few tries and reloads to do it in order for him not to stabilize but he finally died and I respawned him correctly, so everything is working right....for now.
