This is prberably daft but i have just moved up to windows 7 and i cant unpack the co8 mod into the gog file - i keep getting a message saying that it does not have the authority to change a file name.

I would be gratefull if someone could put me straight - cheers

One possible problem with Windows 7:
"The game expects to have write permissions in the directory where it is installed. This is true by default for Windows XP and earlier, but not for Windows Vista and 7.
To solve this, right click on the properties of the executable, click on the compatibility tab and select "Run as Administrator".
Important: this is not required if the game is not installed in the default C:\Program Files. We suggest installing in e.g. C:\Games; anything outside of Program Files should do."

Re: CaNt install on windows 7

I just want to reach out to you and say keep at it, boy. I just recently installed the 7.7 modpack on Windows 7 over the GoG version and after the game (or should I say Windows) gave me a bit of a fight it is working now.

Run everything as an administrator as Conjurer already said, let the Frontend-X run all the way through until it tells you that it is done, be at ease, it takes a while. You should be good after doing this but if not you can type "uac" into your startmenu and move the slider all the way down. After that un- and reinstall the modpack. Good luck!
