Magic weapon spell changes lareth's club to a +203 bonus to attack and damage

    Hey folks,

    Just began playing ToEE* (with Co8 6.1.0). While fighting Rannos and Gremag I discovered that casting the spell magic weapon on Lareth's club of striking causes a bug, resulting in a change to the weapon's normal bonus: +203 bonus to hit and damage. I've included some screen shots here. In that particular screenshot I have several other spell effects on the character, so I wasn't 100% sure what the cause was.

    Subsequently, I restarted the game and had another spellcaster cast magic weapon on the club, with the same result.

    Could someone please verify that this isn't just me, and then post their result?

    This sounds like one of the bugs that can happen with the wrong install of the toee no cd exe. I might suggest you reinstall your game and when you activate the module, make sure not to disturb it until it is fully activated. If you look in the bug report sticky, you can find the full info on this.

    No, it's actually a well known bug - # 260 on the Atari buglist:

    Unfortunately, it's one of those hard-coded bugs that are very hard to fix. Most of these 'buggy bonus' type of bugs are such.

    Hello Co8 community, and thanks for all the amazing work on ToEE;

    I happen to play this game a lot and happily discovered, not so long ago, this huge mod and the new content.
    I'm just reporting an additional information about Lareth's club that doesn't seem to already having been written on the forum (I might not have browsed enough): when you craft it as a defending weapon, the wide configuration scale in the radial menu goes from 0 to 203 (and actually decreases your attack bonus by 0 to 203 as well). I also don't have the basic radial scale that adds the number of charges ((0-3)x3) to successful hit. I wondered if this bug could be related to a problem in the charge allocation for this item specifically; I'll try and craft a mace of smiting to collect further info.

    EDIT: This is bug doesn't apply to crafted staves of striking nor does it apply to smiting rods. (7.5.0)
