I am playing Liv 1.5 now and have encountered a gamestopper issue. After I have cleared the moathouse my next random encounter while travelling (regardless of where or when i start travelling) is to come across a caravan that has been wiped out by gnolls. After a brief conversation with a dying woman, I am left on the small map with nothing to do and I am unable to access the world map. This essentially stops the game dead in it's tracks. Is there something on that map with which i need to interact? If it helps, I chose to let the gnolls in the moathouse go as opposed to killing them. I assume this encounter is triggered by that.
Known issue, will be fixed in 2.0 For now follow the instructions from the spoiler thread below: If you don't already know, Shift-Tilde will open the console. Type in the command above and hit enter. Shift-Tilde again and console goes away.
SwampCow - Sorry about this. I am going to fix it for my next release. I beleive the problem happens if you use the quick keys rather than clicking on world map on the interface, but regardless, it can't be like that... So I will fix it. - Livonya
Just so you know, I never use quick keys, and it always happens to me. Not sure if that will alter your fix or not...
Nitewolf, actually, that wasn't the problem. I think the problem is that if you have clicked off the warning sign for leaving random encounters then it doesn't work, but if you have left that warning sign then it does work... well the first time. Either way it isn't working. Some people will be able to go straight to the world map and leave (I can do that), and others won't. So I added an exit icon and you can simply select that and then you will get a dialog menu with choices for where you want to go... you will be able to go to anyplace that you have already been on the worldmap... - Livonya
"Shift" as in shift key. "Tilde" is the key above the tab key. Press shift and tilde at the same time, and the console window should open.
Thanks ! Ah ! Thanks a bunch. I do vaugely recall the name now. Never would of thought of it on my own though, I am indebted.
