    If you made a regular save from a game resumed from a quick save, that save would probably inherit whatever issues the quicksave had. Sounds like that may be what's going on here.

    AFAIK there is no fundamental problem with the patches (there really should be none because they're not 'critical' files, which is why we say they will work with old saves). Ultimately though, while I sympathize as well, this is why we keep releasing new modpacks. If something's not working with your current configuration and you think the patches are the issue, we've provided an update that eliminates the need for patches. Not much more we can do than that.

    ^ So, it appears that when writing using the quicksave function, the data may become corrupted. Have you noticed that the inconsistant variable "timing" of script-related AI behavior that occur throughout the game? For instance, while using the same character in the NE vignette, the delay before the acolyte begins to walk towards you and initiates dialog and combat varies with each new game. It seems like the the corruptions occur while the engine is "busy" performing real-time operations and writes bad data tot he disk. Saving while the game is paused at the menu [esc] eliminates this issue.

    OK. In otherwords, theres nothing I can do. :( But I have already cleared out all 4 elemental temples so I only got the Great Temple and some NC stuff (like the Child Slavers and WotGS) so I guess Ill just have to try finnish the game anyway.

    Edit: It has gotten worse now. I can't load a new save without it getting corrupt so when ever I want to load I have to load a save way back.
    This is impossible. I will have to try and load a save before the problem started and replay the last hours hoping that it has nothing to do with the patch because this is just almost impossible to play.
    If that doesn't work then I have to try and finnish the game as fast as I can and be done with it, without exploring or doing sidequests.

    I sympathize Crusader, but you should know that there are people who breeze through the entire game (including with patches) with no issues whatsoever. This inconsistency has always been a feature of ToEE, but it seems to point to influences outside ToEE being the cause or a major contributor - system specs and god knows what else.

    The point is that people should not construe reports like this as an indication that ToEE is unstable in the broad sense, because it isn't. It's wacky software to be sure, but it's not a guaranteed failure for everyone or even a majority. In fact, the failure rate seems to be pretty low, because generally that's what you get feedback on (not success), and we don't really get much of it.

    OK, looks like theres something wrong with the game. I loaded a game from before the save problem and there where no problem but then I got to the same point where the save problem started and they started again. When I attack the guys at the Fire Temple.

    I get that it can be something outside ToEE. I don't know what it could be, maybe it's that I'm using Win7.

    Hmm, me too.

    Btw, I just noticed when being killed on the way to the Temple (damn that Robin Hood) that the saving works fine outside the Temple so the problem is in the temple. When ever I try to load a save that was made inside the temple I get the message that the save is corrupt.
    BUT... after restarting the game I by misstake reloaded the save that was said to be corrupt and it worked so maybe the problem is the game thinking the saves are corrupt, more then the saves really being corrupt.

    I hate to tell you, but most times when folks start getting corrupt saves their whole game starts being screwy.

    Is this the same play-thru you mentioned before?

    If it's not and you just started it, I would certainly think of doing a re-activation and starting fresh.

    It's almost magical how a re-activation can fix things up. ;)

    I do not know if anyone has reported it yet; but when I try to do the Welkwood Bog adventure, I end up at the destroyed farmhouse by the Temple of Elemental Evil.

    Don't use the 'travel there immediately' option- always go outside and travel by the world map...

    It's the same playthrough. :p

    So, now I got a NEW problem. My PC got 2 "Spell Object" from the Slavers battle that just will not go away even when I go to Jaroo. A NPC also had one but Jaroo got that one.
    So what I am wondering, will this give me problems later on or can I just let them be and continue playing? I have a loading from before picking it up but I have played a couple of hours since then.


    Edit: I reloaded. Bether safe then sorry. ;)
    But I don't think I'll do War of the Golden Skull, not that I have been able to start it. I can't trigger it even when I have finnished all other quests outside the Temple. Right now I think I just want to finnish the game.

    I am ready to start a new game using 7.5. I was using 7.4.1. I looked at the instructions for removing old versions, and I have a question.

    1st problem is that I cannot find the .txt file you mention. The jpg and tfm files are there in ToEE root directory.

    2nd problem is how do I make sure that 7.4.1 is "not active". Does that simply mean "not running"? The front end program has a button for "activate" which is greyed out, but no button for "deactivate".

    3. Bad Gaer...naughty puppy. I was shcoked the enemy using fire ball thingies on my webs after several rounds. Hmm,use entanglement-should fix some cruel GMs heh heh.

    4. Splitting Ooze bug. In I think all games,but you get no xp for spilt/cloned oozes akin to killing summons. I had about 12 black puddings to see if it altered xps,and did not in 7.4NC. Is that fixed here?

    5. There is a prayer spell trigger when you enter EM at lower SE. In 7.4NC and again in 7.5NC.

    6. Nasty GM,ohhhh,IR got worse,as I get poisoned now by big Kermy! So giant poisonous Toad? But I did not noticed before in 7.4NC???

    7. OOpsie forgot. Secret Doors are now set it seems at DC 0???? So 'searchis a useless skill as near auto success?


    All I can find so far.

    Monsters created through dividing are not supposed to give XP. Pretty sure this works correctly in ToEE.

    Is the modpack image displayed in TFE-X? If so, the .jpg file is there.

    Activate vanilla ToEE to deactivate any other module.
