So I decided to try and play a neutral evil party just to see if it could be done. The problem is, I end up having to fight everyone in Hommlet and miss out on being offered most of the quests. I do eventually find out about the moathouse and can finish that, and then find Nulb, but other than taking up Lareth on his offer to go to the ToEE (which I didn't do) I can't find any other person to tell me where it is. Also Emerydis Meadows. Terjon is aways gone when I go to the Temple of St. Cuthbert in Hommlet. Screng mentions the battle but doesn't show me where it is on the map. Any hints on who I could see to find out how to get to either of these places? I have already ridded the good world of Calmert, Burne, Otis, Elmo, the Hommlet smith and many other Hommlet characters. Is there any way to progress further as an evil party or should I give up now at 5th level? Any help would be appreciated. (I'm still playing vanilla, BTW.)
Let me say that even playing all alignments in the vanilla TOEE I've never had any problems with the folks in Hommlet and could get all of the quests- did you attack them by mistake? As for finding the Temple go to the Waterside Hotel in Nulb and talk to either Rentch or Watt- you should be 'recruited' be either one of them to join the Temple. Rentch also mentions the Battle of Emory Meadows- he might mark it on your map but I'm not sure...
Preston Wetz in Nulb mentions Emory Meadows, IDK if he will mark your map or not. IMO, you slaughtered the villagers too soon. Wait until you get the quests, then show them the way to hell. ETA: Doesn't Otis know how to get to the temple?
You're probably right sonofliberty, I slaughtered them before they could give me their quests. But I was trying to role play an evil party in a good town... oh well, back to the drawing board.
i suggest not to harm any hair in hommlet because the blacksmith is needed for quests in NC, unless the mighty G has added another in town to give those quests
Another suggestion is in Nulb tavern that women that is always in the corner and is always disturbed by you talking to her, (the hot blond chick) you can pick pocket her for a map to the temple ez. you need sleight of hand maybe +10; or just kill/knock out everyone there and loot the bodies. I think also that Burne or rufus has a map to the temple, you just gotta pick it up and use item.
Another way to get to the TOEE that I forgot about is to expose the 2 traders as spies for the temple (their names escape me at the moment). Still not sure if anyone but Terjon will put Emridy Meadows on the world map in vanilla TOEE though...
