Hey everybody: I'm going to post here, in six successive threads, surviving bugs from the original Atari forums ToEE buglist. What I would like is this: Rules Lawyers: offer modern opinions on whether or not these things are actually bugs or not. ToEE Gurus: re-verify that these bugs still do indeed exist in the game. (Apparently there have been some undocumented fixes over the years that may have eliminated some of these.) I'd like to fix as many of these as we can, within reason, though many (if not most) will be unfixable due to being core engine related. And some may have been just plain misunderstood and/or misreported. But proper documentation is still good, nonetheless. There were nearly 600 documented bugs in this list over the years. Each thread will contain a block of 100 so that the threads don't get out of control. Also, only surviving bugs will be reprinted, so that means that each list will contain significantly fewer than 100 bugs. The indicated status of the bugs appearing here may be 'confirmed' or 'unconfirmed,' but I would like you to confirm both types regardless. Thanks for your help. ================================================== BUGS 301 - 400 | 40 bugs 303 Confirmed Scorpp is able to wear human size armor. 305 Confirmed Sometimes spells show as black in radial menu even when they are useable. 310 Confirmed NPC rogues cannot search (e.g., for secret doors) or pickpocket other characters. NPCs are unable to go through door icons to new areas, open chests, or loot bodies for the party. 313 Confirmed Sometimes in large battles, creatures turn on their own members (Jackalweres fight Jackals, Zert fights Elmo, etc). 316 Confirmed Summoned demons (eg Balor) still have power gems in their inventory when they die. 320 Confirmed Black Jay's dying sheep quest will be broken if you talk to Corl and let him go home before getting the quest. 323 Confirmed Drinking Contest in Hommlet allows use of two or more characters in a row. 324 Confirmed Tolub brawl fight: He sometimes falls unconscious (instead of giving up), allowing you to loot him. If allowed to heal, reinitiates same dialogue as before - branded cheater if fail to down him in one hit. Another character can take the first character's place. **Clarification: caused by brawling Tolub till his hps are EXACTLY zero. Fight result does not register and you are allowed to rebrawl him with odd consequences 335 Confirmed Quick-weapon slots routinely borrow weapons from other slots or just plain vanish. 336 Confirmed Character creation: rolled scores with no number > 13 are not rerolled consistently. 337 Confirmed Logbook keys are always listed as unused even if you use them on chests. 338 Confirmed Rolled stat boxes are accessible in point buy. 339 Confirmed Percentage chance to hit shown for unarmed attacks (pressing tab) actually it is hitting alt or alt tab that does this. 341 Confirmed Ending cutscenes shows Thrommel dead even if resurrected/raised in-game. 342 Confirmed Some locked doors can be walked through in and out of combat mode. (Temple lvl 2, central stair room, east door.) 350 Confirmed Slain NPCs respawn at their original location (Scorpp, Burne). 351 Confirmed Characters can sometimes walk through magically held doors (ToEE dungeon lvl 1). 352 Unconfirmed Char. creation doesn't advance from Stats to Race when switching between the Advanced and Basic stat gen. 354 Unconfirmed Detect magic does not work on corpses (well, on magic items which are on corpses.. ) 359 Confirmed Selling to Shop keepers. There are open slots left but it says they are "full". 360 Confirmed F9: This does not always load your quicksave. It loads your most recent save, be it either a quicksave, autosave (from changing areas) or manual save. 362 Confirmed People in the inn in hommlet will attack if the party has zombies or lacedons in them, but not if it has skeletons or skeleton gnolls. The priests in the church and the people in Rufus and Burne's tower don't mind zombies, skeletons, or skeleton gnolls, but they attack if lacedons are in the party. 364 Unconfirmed Raised NPCs may be Hostile. 366 Confirmed Wands of Identify don't charge you for material components when crafting them. 368 Confirmed All reach weapons can attack @ 5'. 372 Confirmed Combat Reflexes does not allow multiple AoOs if opponents move simultaneously. 376 Unconfirmed Game lags when equipping second spiked chains on the same character. 378 Confirmed Rarely, action hourglass will be less full than it should be. 379 Confirmed Sometimes spell/arrow art remains on screen. 381 Unconfirmed Console screen shows up when bartering. 382 Unconfirmed Characters making reflex saves every 2 seconds (with no result). 383 Unconfirmed Save corruption: loaded quick save has all character stats @0, equipment has no effect. 384 Unconfirmed Entering fire node: radial menu has permanent green line linking char avatars to the radial menu. 386 Unconfirmed CTD killing/fighting Vrock. 389 Unconfirmed Lareth falls back to his old dialogue outside the back entry into the temple: he asks what we're doing there and then calls in his lieutenant... 390 Confirmed Some NPCs become hostile upon leaving the group/after completing Moathouse. 392 Unconfirmed Glitterdust: sometimes causes enemies (behemoth frog) to skip turns when it blinds them. 395 Confirmed Level 10 bard did not receive songs "Inspire Greatness" and "Intimidate". A player with 17 perform got inspire greatness but not intimidate. 396 Unconfirmed Cannot use intimidate on fascinated creature. 399 Unconfirmed When doing Animate Dead on a dead party member, made him disappear and drop all his items on the ground, yet he is still in the party and you can select him but it will just give a circle around where his body is supposed to be. Cannot revive him with the priest in Hommlet, it just doesn't do anything when you aim the resurrect arrow on his portrait.

Hi Gaear I have a few more for you. Please note that these findings are based on Co8 v. 7.2NC #320 BUSTED !! I was able to successfully complete the quest of Black Jay's Sheep, even if I spoke to Corl before I ever spoke to Black Jay. I did this one twice just to be sure. The first time I completed "A Ring for Jay" (returned his wife's ring) but didn't ask him anything else. I returned to the inn, waited until evening, returned to Jay's field, spoke with Corl (I used the "You're lying.... dialogue option), and let him go. I was still able to accept and complete the quest the next day. The second time, I talked to Corl before I even encountered Jay, used the same dialogue option, and was still able to accept and complete the quest. #323 EDIT: CONFIRMED: The key to double teaming the Drinking Contest is to make sure that your first character quits before Tuperello passes out (after 5 or 6 drinks). You can then have a second PC restart the drinking contest. #336 CONFIRMED: The game doesn't always reroll characters when it generates a character with no number greater than 13. I rolled 200 characters, and 10 of them had no score higher than 13. #338 CONFIRMED: If you know how to do it, you can roll a set of stats, switch to Point Buy, access the stats you rolled, and use them as the "starting points" for a point buy character. #352 BUSTED: I'm not really certain what was meant by this, but I started ADVANCED (aka Point Buy) stat generation, switched to basic, rolled the stats and was able to complete the creation of a character. I thought this was a gimme that all TOEE players have known of and used to edit their characters ever since ... forever. Is there a plan in the works to remove this handy and useful tool that allows you to create the character that you want more effectively?

Hi Gaear Got another one for you. #376 ( Game lag with 2 Spiked Chains) BUSTED !! Under normal circumstances it is impossible to equip one character with 2 Spiked Chains, as Spiked Chains are a two handed weapon. I haven't tried this with an enlarged character, so it still might apply under that condition. The Royal Canadian
Hi Gaear Yes I have seen the other buglists. In fact I have printed them out, and am testing some of them now. I do have a few comments about some of the other bugs. This is the only one from this list. I will add the others to their appropriate lists #368 "All reach weapons can attack at 5"" So far I have confirmed this with Glaive, Longspear, and Ranseur. 362 That sounds right as is! Skeletons and Zombies are like magically created robots .. normal townsfolk dont like zombies cause they stink (and possibly they cant tell them from Ghouls etc), but magical professionals understand and are more tolerant .. Lacedons are flesh eating monsters and a contageous disease to boot (thier vicims can rise as lacedons) so any sane and good folk might attack a party with them in it 379 quite true, but easily ignored 392 suddenly blinded ppl and things sometimes stand there for a second doing nothing yeah .. thats ok, realistic
