Ok, im sure everyone knows about the "fragarach glitch" where you get attacked by something and your character gets infinite AoO, will someone please tell me how to 1) fix it with ToeeWB or other scripting device or to admin of Co8 2) fix it(somehow) in the next installment, this has caused me grief since the release thank you admin 7.2.0 its great
The fix is to not use it in fire node or fire temple. It might happen elsewhere but as far as i know there is no real fix. I usually curse and reload. The game is more fun without using the two big swords so that is an option.
If Atari got a dime for everytime someone said "fix fragarach!", then Activision-Blizzard would be looking on in envy, sighing "WoW just isn't making us enough money"
There is no fix to the problem, it is hard-coded in the engine and has defied all attempts to correct the issue. Another work-around, beyond what chano stated, is to not use it with a CG character. IIRC, only CG gets unlimited AoO attacks, other alignments get only 1 AoO or none at all.
Hi, Gaear Can you fix the bug on fragarach in the fire node regarding the <when you battle the mobs on the fire node like fire frog and noble salamanders> greyed-out button? I have read a thread before, here in co8 forum suggesting that there is a workaround on the greyed-out button, but I'm not satisfied with it and that I'm fully eager to see fragarach bug on the fire node fixed. I want to use fragarach in the fire node without problems. Seems to be impossible, but in reality nothing is impossible and something is always beyond reach, like the one you achieve which is the nodes lag fix. <Can you do it or not?> Ha! that is so impolite man! sorry. Is it possible to fix it? :shrug: Edit: Oh last question, is scather is also within the scope of fragarach bug? is it safe to use the uber sword in the fire node? I'm very positive that this bug will end up fixed on the next releases of co8 modpack.
No. If it was fixable, it would have been fixed long ago. It's core stuff that we can't touch. Yes and no. No, I guarantee you that it won't be.
I was wondering if (for fire salamanders as an example) it would be possible to work around with a change to the salamander rather than the sword, to remove the fire shield damage they reflect back to the attacker. If that were possible but you didn't want to nerf the Salamanders, you could replace the damage reflection/retaliation with a persistent area affect around a salamander that does fire damage to all within 10m (or 5m) once per round. Though tbh I support the "don't use fragarach/scather" thing. I just did fire node last night and simply swapped scather out for Frostbrand on my sword using fighter for the duration of the node. (don't forget to disable your power attack and combat expertise though...damn I was getting annoyed by how many misses I was making...)
Thanks all for your input. Lots of help btw in CO8 MP 7.2.0 NC it says its is missing the "damage.mes" file saying "PCC name" dealt 3 "missing line in..." how do i fix this?
