I constantly get attacked by Robin of Loxley at level 6, which suffice to say is not survivable. Is there anyway to avoid this or do I need to restart?
Open the console (shift ~) and input the following code: Code: game.global_flags[711] = 1 That will turn it off, but you will never get it again either.
Its not hard? You just accept every quest the smith has until you can travel there. You don't actually have to compleate anything as far as I can tell, just talk to people.
As I played it, You Do need to complete the Moathouse respawn first. Personally, I didn't do that until level 9 or 10.
No Jadrax is quite right - there is nothing stopping you going to Verbobonc as soon as you are strong enough to beat up Romag and his bugbears - provided you have ASKED about Moathouse respawn I would say a quick dash to the magic store as soon as your Enchanter reaches level 5 (Craft Wand) and has enough buffs to be able to scribe Dominate Monster into his/her spellbook might prove interesting.
If I set that flag to zero, will they attack me again? I am at level 10- I just met and killed them, but I reloaded the beginning of the fight a few times until I got a somewhat favorable turn order. Their 4 rogues were making a beeline to my casters and wiping them out despite stoneskins and what not. When I got a favorable turn order, I was able to cast stinkcloud and web to incapacitate most of them. a few fighters and a couple of rogues made it out, but at least I could handle that somewhat. I am not happy about it though and would like another shot at a more fair fight. I think stinking cloud is almost cheating since it never leaves a person even if they initially save and leave the cloud. On the other hand, 4 rogues, a bunch of fighters all at 100+ HP, a cleric with about 25 pts of spell resistance and a Robin that doesn't miss on his four bow attacks is not exactly a fair fight either.
Probably not, as once you set it to 1 the encounter system will consider it as having happened already and will never consider it for scheduling again. That encounter does have a very vague trigger, and it varies further by alignment, but that's the way I wanted it so as to avoid another instance of knowing exactly when some thing or other is going to pop.
I just experienced this encounter for the first time and I loved having something completely out of the blue hit me ... how I miss the early play-throughs when I didn't know what came next. In my opinion, this encounter is well balanced and an exciting turn of events. If Gaear ever decided to add another special encounter and not let the rest of us know he added it in, I would worship the ground he walks on.
For the record, Robin and Co. was Ranth's creation and is technically a part of WotGS. I just rescheduled it as a RE.
