Textures! (The game engine draws trees and other dynamic scenery objects, hence the lack of trees but presence of their shadows. These are photoshop-generated jpegs.) Buildings and streets, new and old ... Arena and warehouses, new and old ...
Looking at the cross design on every edge of the road makes me feel weird. Everything else looks 100% good, great job Gaear! Edit: I've noticed that you've improved the color of the lake. (at least now the verbo townspeople can drink it safe, unlike the previous one which came from nulb.)
VERY NICELY DONE!!!!! Very clean looking, ... I miss seeing the ship(s) in the harbor, but hey it was just a Nulb pirate vessel anyway, and i REALLY like the fleur-de-lis pattern on the streets, and the attention to the details!
Thanks guys. Yeah, I decided to forego the Nulb ship because Verbo should have a lot of active trade via water, and any ships on the map would just sit there permanently.
To be honest, all of these hi-res textures are visually great. But, It seems that it lacks the magical feeling that it possesses before. But still, great content! :vampire:
What would be cool is if the boat could be gone sometimes and there others, kind of like there is a shipping business going on. I know, I know ... but still, would be cool.
We're going to upgrade the Verbobonc river water textures again, like so: I thought the water texture upgrades last time around were an improvement, but IMO they looked best in still images, because the ripple effects appeared to be still captures of a dynamic effect. But once you got in-game, you quickly realized they weren't. Thus we now have a still, glass-like water surface in Verbobonc, which I think also looks good. And while such calm water may seem unlikely in a shipping lane, the advantage is that it won't appear as static. I think it pretty much has to be this way.
I think the ripples don't make a whole lot of sense, unless you put a couple of kids skipping stones nearbye.
