Hey guys! If I wanted to make a new weapon with mighty cleaving, what property type would I have to use? Would I just type "Mighty Cleaving"? Do I need to insert a Number in Param. 1 & 2 or just leave it blank? EDIT: Oh and what does the property type "Monster Smiting" do?
It looks like mighty cleaving is only attributable during item creation, as there are absolutely no instances of the phrase in protos.tab. I assume monster smiting gives a monter's attacks the same property as the rod of smiting:
I'm probably totally wrong here but my initial guess was that it gave the monster a supernatural ability (or do they call that "spell-like ability" in third edition D&D now?) equivalent to the paladin's special ability "Smite Evil" (except that Iuz casts "Smite Good" instead). Both Iuz and St. Cuthbert have "Monster Smiting" as a Property Type in their respective protos, so you could test fight them to see if you can find out exactly what "Monster Smiting" does.
Mighty Cleaving is a crafting option but what does it do and does it even work? If it made Fruella's cleaver +6, then cool. Just curious.
Here is what the SRD says about Mighty Cleaving weapons; Mighty Cleaving A mighty cleaving weapon allows a wielder with the Cleave feat to make one additional cleave attempt in a round. Here's a helpful link to the SRD when referring to Magic Weapons.
Well, I found out (the hard way) what Iuz's property type called Monster Smiting does. And yes, Iuz killed Conan with just one hit from his greatsword! Ouch! When I clicked on the blue text "Smite Good" in the Damage window, it brought up the Help window for the spell Unholy Blight.
Monster smiting could be considered another version of smite evil, except an evil one can perform it. I'm not home, but I'll check my books later because I think I remember it somewhere.
