I've long thought about trying to play the game with only NPCs. Wondering if anyone had interest in Fire Emblem style draft. Provisional Rules Circle of Eight 7.0 PC/NPC balance is set to 3 PCs, 5 NPCs (It can't go any lower) but only one PC is used Humble NPCs on PC can talk to NPCs, solve the vignettes, may level up for gaining social skills and flee in combat. May not participate in combat in any way. Issues: Would need some method for score. No easy turn counts like FE. How to do "paired" characters Any bans? Really only considering the earlish level 8+s and Elmo. Drafte list (chime in if anyone was missed, from the list on the GameFAQs FAQ, excludes the 3 escortee NPCs). Dividing them (aside from Homlet, where 1 NPC must be gotten) is just for aesthetics right now. Apparently you have to be under level 5 when you ask Otis to join you a second time. It's why she has an assistant like the other shop keeps who will join your party in 7.0
I believe Screng joins with Hruda and Otis, and they last for only one visit to the Temple. I'm not positive, but I think there's an alignment restriction on the trigger as well.
