    Thanks.

    Another question  :)
    Does sneak attack works properly?
I'm asking because I've noticed that sometimes I put my rogue behind an enemy hit him successfully and yet I get no "sneak attack" message and since the damage is really low too I assume it was a regular attack.

    And another one:
on the Temple Earth level I can see two small rooms/doors that whenever I get close to them I see the on-screen message "magically held".
Can I open or enter them?

On the sneak attack if IIRC the enemy has to be in a postion where he loses his Dex bonus such as flatfooted, or he needs to be flanked. So with this example if you move behind an enemy during combat but do not have a ally opposite of you on the other side of the enemy it is not a sneak attack. You can sneak behind an enemy while in non-combat and intiate combat by using the full attack and should get a sneak attack since he should be flatfooted. On this note usually even if you are not in sneak mode and even facing the enemy your first attack can almost always be a sneak attack since many times the enemy will be flatfooted until they do thier first action, so your rouge most likely will be in the frount of the intiative order (unless he just rolls a 1 or something). So just make your first attack against a enemy who has not gone yet in the intiative order the first round, to get a sneak attack in. Then you don't need to be flanking or behind him since Flatfooted is a lose dex condition.

Also remember there are some things that can negate your sneak attack capabilities such as a Barbarian or Rouge w/ improved uncanny dodge and certain monsters such as undead, oozes, constructs are immuned to them.

I believe all of these are PnP rules and are correctly implemented in TOEE.

    Thanks.

    About the Druid's wild shape.
Do the item bonus stack on top of polymorph?
I don't think they do, but I'd to be sure.

I'm kind of clueless on what to make of Meleny (apart from :pelvicthr).
In her natural non-buffed form she's pretty useless as a fighter. So I was thinking on giving her a belt of +6 strenght and a masterwork smicitar. I don't know if that will be enough.
Another option is to have her in polar bear mode.
And finally the last one is to continue to have her as a dead weight half of the time and just let her cast the occasional spell. Since I'm playing without a cleric I do really need her.

She has proven herself useful lots of times, but it seems half the time she's more of a bystander. She hasn't made me a sandwich not even once! If this keeps up I'll file for divorce! ;)

Should I go with polar bear mode (with that feat that allows casting in wild shape) and therefore save 18,000 gold to make that +6 strength belt?

EDIT: #%#$&&%$! I'm now suffering from an annoying bug that whenever I exit from Hommlet's tavern, all characters are frozen in time with combat poses!
It seems if I rest until morning and then exit the inn, things work as expected.

I find the best use of Melony is to have her concentrate on spellcasting, get Augment Summoning and have her bring in the elementals. Then sit back and Call Lightning or Flamestrike. Oh, you will have plenty of cash, so get that belt for her so she can carry more loot back to town.

How do I use the magic feats?
I got the Extend Spell feat which doubles its duration and increases it's spell level by 1.
So I put the Greater Invisibility spell (level 4) in slot 5 but when I cast it, it casts normally.

When one of your (N)PCs dies and is resurrected, he loses 10,000 XP. Is this correct?

You need to activate the metamagic feats when memorizing the spells, i.e. before you rest to refresh your spells. You use the feats via the small (+) icon next to the spell's name in the spell list.

A character loses XP so that his level is lowered by one and he/she is halfway in reaching the next level. For example, a level 7 character (21000-28000 XP) dies and is resurrected. The character resurrects in level 6 with 18000 XP, which is in the middle of the 6th level range of XP, 15000-21000 XP.

Once again thanks for all the help guys.

I've now at the Temple Dungeon Level 3 and at some location with some statues Elmo remarks they look so alive. Is it possible to do anything with those?

And on the same map, between the secret passages from the dungeon to the Sigmal's room I can see from the map what seems to be some room which I can't reach. Is there anything there or is it just left unfinished by Troika?
EDIT: ah! nevermind. Nothing like clicking in pitch black area to see if there's a visible, but not visible, door :)

    EDIT2: another issue
I'm unable to talk to Otis about his equipment? Is this a bug?

You mean his personal gear? I think we added Otis to the less-humble NPCs list, so now he keeps his stuff. (The worthwhile stuff at least.)

I didn't even knew there was a less-humble NPC list.
Is there any reason for that?
In my case it isn't much of a problem because Elmo has the only armor (Mithral Plate) that is better than the one Otis owns. And I only found out about this because I gave him the +3 sword and wanted to store his old one.
But in the worse case scenario for a certain party he may just be wasting 2 inventory slots and getting encumbered faster.
But since you mentioned a less-humble NPC list I don't know if this can be a problem with the other NPCs.
Like I said above, in my case this isn't a real problem, but I would still prefer to have full control. If the purpose was to loot his items then I would just send him in advance to battle.

On another subject, I remember reading that the spiked chain weapons are somewhat broken. Is this correct?

    And yet another thing:
failing to find the cursed bugbears that Kelno, the air cleric, asked me I checked the interwebs for a map, but it seems the bugbears didn't spawn in my game.
Nor the ones he wants me to convince to join him, nor the ones that are members of the Air temple. Locations 3 and 9 http://www.gamebanshee.com/templeofelementalevil/locations/dungeonlevel2.php
(I reloaded a previous save game and went directly there, so I didn't kill them for sure)

    *sigh*
Now after I killed the fire guys as the Water Cleric had requested me, I head there to report back, but instead they attack me on sight.
Is there a way for me to debug the cause of the problem, using the console, and eventually fixing it?
EDIT: I think I know what set it. My party getting inside with Protection from Element (fire) still active. After I rested (without leaving the temple) I was able to enter normally.

Just a spell-related question, please. In 6.1 NC, level 2 spells seem to be "locked", ie, I have a level 3 Wizard, a Socerer and a Bard, and none of them have any access to them. The wizard, in particular has two level 2 spell slots, which I can't use, because I cannot choose any spells.
Is this normal? How do I "unlock" the spells, if so?

P.S. If this is a feature it's very nice, I am all for having to return to a tutor or something similar to learn new spells, and would even welcome something like that hapenning with fighter moves (Syrio Forel ftw ), or even bard songs.

If all of your characters are at level 3, then the answer regarding the Bard and Sorcerer is very simple, as they get level 2 spells from level 4 onwards.
As for the Wizard, make sure you choose level 2 spells during the leveling up process as you might not have level 2 spells otherwise in your spell list. Adventure around for a bit, you will soon find scrolls from which you can then learn higher level spells from.

Thank you for the answer, though the wizard bit seems somewhat confusing, since I had ran into a bit of a problem when I levelled him up, as it was in the middle of a bug (a zombie could not open a door to attack me, and for some reason the combat music dragged on and on at a fast forward pace :twitch: and my characters were unable to move (must have been caught between a turn based and a real time phase).
I do have the summon monster 2 scroll, though, and still the wizard seems unable to learn it.

The leveling up might indeed have some problems, but I'm not the right person to try to sort them out. However...
Does your wizard have ranks in the skill Spellcraft? That is the requirement for learning new spells from scrolls. Also, if the learning attempt fails you can't try again until you get more ranks to the skill, i.e. level up and spend skill points accordingly. At least the Trading Post in Hommlet has an item, Scholar's Kit, that can help your wizard in this.

Spellcraft is at 5, I have the eyeglasses as well as the scolar's kit. When I try to copy the scroll monster summoning I get a "spell school prohibited" message, though I didn't choose a specific school for my wizard. Perhaps the next level might solve this.
