    And that's the basics people!

Feel free to reply to this thread with any new discoveries, questions and such.

This is most definitely NOT an exhaustive list of what the particle system can do, theres a whole lot more options and fields that can be used, it is merely intended as a primer on the basic particle functions :)

If you're looking for information about getting the spell effect in game, and spell scripts etc, i currently have a thread where i am learning to do just that myself here:
    http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7294

Final Note: my download links are currently using rapidshare, if someone could suggest a better place to use, id welcome it (10 download limit? bah)

    Post Away!! :)

I found some other interesting tidbit.

(Man this particle system engine is *SOOO* crazy compared to anything else I've seen on the net oO, they really really went overboard with it).

If a key-framed value contains values like these: 0,255(5),255(-10),0
The values in the brackets will lead to unevenly spaced keyframes. In fact, the number in brackets gives the *position* of the keyframe, relative to either 0 (if positive) or the particle's lifetime (if negative).

    What this means:
For the example above, the first keyframe is @ 0 seconds (it must be), and has value 0.
The second keyframe is @ 0 + 5 / 30 seconds (The particle system seems to use 30 ticks per second) with value 255
The third keyframe is at 3 (each particle lives 3 secs in this example) - 10/30 seconds with value 255
The fourth keyframe is at 3 seconds (see above why) with value 0.

Bottom line: The same effect could've been achieved by putting in a LOT of 255's in the middle of that keyframe animation, so the fade-in/fade-out would be quicker. This is just an easier way to do that.

I updated the link in post 1.

I don't have a clue - certainly never tried it, and I doubt that what is probably a proprietary format used by Troika could be imported by Premier/MovieMaker/Etc.

    ?

    They are in ToEE.dat/rules ... partsys0.tab, partsys1.tab, and partsys2.tab.

    -Great !
-But I've some issues now, I need the "tio.dll" (required by V2Brute) , it's missed in my installation, my french version of the game It's maybe in cause ...

-I have tried to install the official patches to fix this, but an English version is required ...

I have in mind: How are built speels into TOEE Engine and the Bard Song in particular ?

    - Thank You : )

I wondered if among the plug-in that some of you have created (eg on 3DSMax) if certain plugs would be able to import / read / export TOEE spells and especially Particle Effects ?
[ideally for us to get output in bmp, and/or png]

    - All works hypothesis concerning the conversion of Speels to the Infinity Engine are very welcome ...

    -Thank You .
