In the same context as my comments above about re-using maps, this one may be a little 'tired' now as well. It's already the LG vignette map and the gnoll ambush RE map. Also, it doesn't function well as an RE map due to some vagaries with core stuff - RE maps are supposed to auto-find where you were on the worldmap and put you back there when you leave the RE map, but that one doesn't (it puts you at the ToEE), because it's only a quasi-RE map. It was added to the RE map list by Spellslinger in a .dll hack, but it's not a true RE map. The better way would be to just add the event to the scripted encounter queue normally and use the regular RE maps. You wouldn't get stuff like the wagons, but the maps could vary and everything else would work right. Say they were a group of merchants on foot. (We never see ToEE's mysterious horses anyway; they don't exist.)
Thanks for the advice. I will use a standard random encounter (RE) map and create a letter from the merchant house in Verbobonc that organized this caravan.
NWN 2 Graphics Samples Quick samples of graphics from NWN. The key is that these grapics are scalable and the orientation can be changed. Question - with more polish would these be suitable for use in TOEE Mods? Note: I had to install Direct X 9.0 to get the NWN2 Toolset to function.
I really don't think they make the grade, sorry. NWN has never been lauded for its graphics from what I can recall ... 3D is sort of an inherant limitation as far as that goes: it allows for, well, 3D fluidity while sacrificing detail. They look okay, but by contrast, ToEE's look spectacular. 2D iso for the win as far as that goes.
This whole thread is VERY exciting to hear about!!! I'm behind this being worked on and included to the NC in the future 100%!!!! I have mentioned several times before in threads on this forum that Burne and Rufus mention to the PCs they defeated a dragon in the Kron hills in the past... and i believe that they were not potentially high enough in level to have accomplished that feat, and the dragon was only driven off and still lives. or maybe they slew the immature offspring of your ancient dragon...? I thought that would be an neat add-on to the story. It could also be another trigger to bring the cave of your dragon to the parties attention, by hearing about the emergence of a rampaging dragon from Burne, as merchants from Hommlett have been waylaid and burned/eaten. they seek the adventurers aid... in this new threat to Hommlett and the surrounding environs... If you want to use it? In any case, a new dragon being added to the game would be incredible. i hope this continues to be developed. and also, NWN and NWN2 are great games... I own them both as well.
