OK... I'm at the Balor Guardian encounter, and since I know he's there I super-buff my cleric who is using a holy sword, I cast bless, prayer, divine power, righteous might, etc. as well as magic circle vs evil. My party is all within range of the spell, so I think, ok the magic circle will protect me from the balor's fear/charm spells. Not so. 1st turn I get a couple of hits in with some of my characters, he summons another balor which immediately casts fear, and everyone besides my paladin runs like little girls. Next turn, he casts charm on my paladin, so now I'm pretty much screwed. I try to get my sorceress to dispel magic on my paladin but it strips some buffs and not the charm. Grr... So I decide to be cheap and equip my cleric with Fragarach, and charge attack the balor. Then she takes 0 fire damage from the balor's aura (she's wearing Hedrack's armor), which triggers Fragarach's special ability, at which point the entire combat locks up and I can't do anything but CTRL-ALT-DEL and shut down ToEE. Grr.... So I reload and try to cast Magic Circle on the balor instead so it will focus inwards on him. Still no go, he fears my entire party then charms my paladin, again. Another try with Fragarach, another lock up. *sigh* I gave up after one more try, and now I'm going to try with plain old Protection From Evil, not Magic Circle. Anyways, I just wanted to report that Magic Circle is currently broken, and I'm not sure if its an issue with the original game or Liv's mod. At any rate, Liv could you please try to fix it? Much appreciated!
None of your problems are due to my mod. They were already a problem before, and I didn't do anyhing to increase/reduce these specific problems. Unfortunantly, that doesn't help you much. You simply can NOT use Fragarach with the Balor. I will look at Magic Circle to see if I can fix it if it is indeed broken. - Livonya
Absolutely correct. The problem only occurs when a CG or CN (or NG?) character gets a free AoO due to Fragarach or Scather from damage that is not actually an attack - most commonly, a flame aura (Balor, Salamanders, etc).
