Hi there. I just recently found out about gog.com while searching for a place to purchase Neverwinter Nights 1, and I've noticed that they also sell ToEE, a game I've always wanted to play. So I'm really tempted to buy it, and knowing myself, this means that I'll probably do it. Should I first play it unmoded, should I use just the bugfixing mod-patchs, or should I play it with the new content mods already? Or am I crazy for wanting to purchase a 2003-game-that-feels-like-a-2000-game in 2011? Not that I mind that, anyway. Thanks in advance. Edit: Oh, and sorry. I probably should have posted this on the ToEE subforum.
Definitely not crazy - it is by far the best game simulation of a D&D adventure. Have not found anything so good like it, and they will probably never make, as every game now days is action oriented for business reasons. And btw, the game is still beautiful in its own way. DO NOT play it unmodded. Too many bugs to really enjoy it. And if you talking about playing a Co8 6.0 or Co8 6.0 NC, just install NC as that will save you reinstalling the mod once you finish the game and wanting to try new party. If you do not want to play or trigger the new content, simply do not ask Brother Smyth for "something different" and you will never trigger the line.
That's nice, thanks. Edit: Purchased it and, indeed, this seems to have been totally worth it. Great game so far.
