Deffinitly a universal item. Gauntlets are a little seen item. Why not some gladitoral gauntlets of triumph (or something to that affect) for conquering adversity. Or a Hero type ring that gives some decent bonuses to a few stats. You could award a nice spell or scroll or two or even have a few items out and the player picks a set amount from them. So that way if could go more with how the party is setup.
I have no rogue in my current party and cannot open the chest to get the AoH book - is there any other way to get into the chest? I recruited Fernok (sp?) but he is too low level to open it
I guess I could re-recruit Fernok and console lvl him up, open the chest then boot him from party - but I hate having to use cheats :thumbsdow
Have him try, then look at the roll screen to see how far off he is from getting it. A few spells like Guidance, Prayer, or Cat's Grace could put him over the top, or buy some lockslip grease from the traders. Does he have theives' tools? There is a masterwork set lying outside the moathouse, or you can buy some in Nulb.
Yeah, I went to the moathouse to grab that set of thieves tools there to give him. I'll get the grease and the buffs and try again - thanks for the advice!!:yes:
I defeated the 1st round of enemies (3 massive ________ are tough even with a lvl 6 party!) NICE combat, liked how they shamble out, though they are quite susceptible to "Grease" my new favorite spell, second to "Spiritual Weapon" ... however, once they were defeated, nothing happened ... my guys were just standing around to a cheering crowd. i ran ALL around the arena, could not trigger or locate anything to progress the game forward ... and i could not use the book to leave, or anything. My first time playing the arena - any ideas what happened? I finally had to quit and reboot, since it seemed i was stuck. Please Advise, thanks!
Stuck in Arena of Heroes! I finish off the 3 owl bears and then run around and there is no one and no exit. what do I do?
See this post for the hotfix to that problem. Furnok should be capable of doing it. That's what players normally do if they don't have a rogue who can do it themselves.
Well, that brings up a question I've been wondering about for a while - if a rogue misses his/her first attempt at opening a lock - is it possible that immediately re-trying will ever succeed?
I don't think so. IIRC, the game usually rolls 20 on open lock attempts. Check the dice roll window to know for sure.
If you are out of danger (no monsters around) you can take 20, meaning you spend extra time using the skill.

Tried to fix the problem with arena master, but id does not work properly: I've copied the file from archive to ToEE/data/scr overwriting py0922master_of_the_arena.py Consequencies: party teleports to Arena OK, but the Master does not speak to me in the beginning, so the fight does not start. Tried also not overwriting and overwriting with|without extension "py". :roll: Please, help... P.S. May be I should copy all of the Arena Master's files? How many and what the files are, please advise...
